Arrived onsite to customer having issue with water heater not working. Water heater was approximately 8 years old. Had discussion with customer about about how long tanks had last, but she had thought when she returned from Arizona that she had messed something up. Presented customer with pricing to re-light water heater. Customer accepted pricing. Attempted to re-light water heater but pilot would not light. Checked to ensure customers gas meter was on and that gas pressure was present. Depressed pilot knob fairly hard and was able to get pilot light to relight. Showed customer how hard to depress control valve knob. And to follow instructions when relighting water heater in the future. Turned burner to hot and watched main burner kick in with a nice blue flame. Cycled burners multiple times to ensure function and that pilot light would stay lit. Checked for CO leaks and gas leaks while unit was under fire and found none to be present.
