Performed precision a/c tune up on amana heat pump system. Replaced 20x20x1 air filter. Checked all electrical conections and components. Blew out condensate drain. Tested condensation pump with water. Tested outdoor capacitor. Checked temperature temperature split. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures at indoor and outdoor units. Heat pump system is working fine at time of service.
Reclaimed and removed old ac unit. Removed old coil and funrance of return box. Installers a new Amana gas heater on existing return box and put a HE filter underneath. Flushed copper lines and grazed and leak checked with nitro and soapy bubbles. Installed a new amana ac unit in a new plastic pad with rocks underneath. New disconnect box and electrical wiring to unit. Adapted gas piping as needed. Modified supply metal and taped all joints.
Went over to outdoor unit and first checked to make sure all high voltage wiring was in tact. Installed hard start capacitor, still system did not come on. Compressor was hot from trying to start so cooled down with garden hose. After System trying to start for 20 minutes, hard start capacitor blew open and failed. Compressor is locked tight and will not run at this point. Office will be in touch at this point to move forward with the replacement.
Found indoor coil completely frozen up. Found 1/3 hp blower motor was completely locked up bearings had failed. Talked to homeowner about situation, homeowner is going to replace the system. Temporarily installed a brand new rescue motor and put system if fan on. Not able to run a/c at this point until later this afternoon to kick on a/c again to to being completely frozen.
No ac found system off upon arrival found open 3 amp fuse, found short on the outside unit repaired short and test unit also installed new 3 amp fuse, check operation of ac unit found unit running on 14 split, check refrigerant pressures sub cooling was 5 with 30 super heat, added refrigerant now sub cooling is 11 and super heat is 15 supply/return air is now 18 would recommend upgrading unit due to refrigerant protocol office will emailed proposal for system replacement
Checked no cooling complaint , set thermostat to cooling, started air conditioner, found only outdoor fan running. Checked outdoor unit, found compressor lock rotor. Checked run capacitor ok, found a burnt wire from the contractor o the common on the run capacitor. Replaced burnt wire. Started air conditioner, compressor is still off on overload and will need time to reset. Weather was heavy rain, lightning and thunder. I explained that the compressor can cool and start on its own or may be failed.
Found system completely almost empty on r-22. Pressures were 170/11 at 85 degrees. Called office to get a price on replacement of the gas furnace and a/c system. Homeowner wants to go with the better option. They also signed up again for the maintenance agreement. After talking with our office they agreed to give the customer temporary cooling we are going add r-22 to the system to get it working in the mean time before the system is replaced. Added 4lbs of r-22. System is working fine at the of service.
Blown low voltage fuse. Added common to thermostat terminal on zone panel. System is running/cooling now. Cycled system twice fuse did not blow.
Noise coming from second floor attic unit, found thermostat satisfied upon arrival set thermostat lower than set point ac and indoor unit came on and noise is coming from blower motor, check blower operation and found return duct tape connection has come apart, remove old tape and applied new tape, cycle unit and noise stopped. Check supply and return air 70/49 F
Went back to bathroom where customer was hearing the vibration noise and could here it but it was just normal compressor noise. Went downstairs in basement and the Lnes where they were feeling the vibration were the refrigerant lines and this is normal when the a/c is running. Loosened one clamp on floor joist to try to help with vibration but don’t see any issues with the a/c system.
AC tune up for 3 ton Amana AC system. 20F temperature split. Cleaned EZ trap. Indoor Amps/outdoor voltage/compressor amps ok. Both coils are in good condition. Refrigerant pressures/subcooling ok. Filter ok. System is operating well at the time of this tune up.
Performed precision a/c tune up on American standard a/c system. Replaced dirty Aprilaire 413 air filter. Checked all electrical conections and components. Blew out condensate drain. Checked temperature split at indoor coil. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures at indoor and outdoor units. A/c system is working fine at time of inspection.
Six month inspection for 2.5 ton Amana AC system. 20F temperature split. Cleaned and primed EZ trap. 413 filter ok. Wiring on indoor and outdoor equipment ok. Tested operation of both thermostats; ok. Both coils are in good condition. Outdoor voltage/compressor amps/indoor amps ok. Refrigerant pressures/subcooling/superheat ok. System is operating well at the time of this inspection.
AC tune up for 4 ton American Standard AC system. 20F temperature split. Cleaned drain. Tested condensate pump. Indoor and outdoor equipment wiring ok. Both coils are in good condition. Both zones/tstats ok. All electric motors and components ok. Refrigerant pressures/subcooling/superheat ok. Outdoor voltage/indoor amps/compressor amps ok. Replaced 401 filter and renewed Mr. Saladino’s membership. System is operating well at the time of this tune up.
