Hi everyone, As usual, I am very happy with the people that I have worked with from Drake. Everyone, is always polite and considerate on the phone as well as the technicians. I spoke mostly with Emily and I believe worked with Anthony, Jordan and mostly, Chris....all competent and helpful. I am, however, not happy that a part warranteed AC, that is only four years old, ended costing me close to $1,000....even with labor discounted 50%? I also realize that much of the expense was refrigerant and dye packs, but that doesn't make it much easier to swallow. I guess, the only questions I would have would be: is the refrigerant/dye pack recovered, or just discarded? Is it reusable? I think 9 lbs was ultimately used and/or discarded. I was also curious about the manufacturer, York, and why a simple "connector" to the coil wasn't engineered to be replaceable or repairable and not require the replacement of a $2,000 coil? In that you recommended and installed their equipment for me, I would guess you might ask them, especially if this seems to be more than an isolated occurence with their equipment that your are installing.
