The technician (Noah) that came to service my Buderus blue-flame unit was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, worked quickly and efficiently and was friendly. He explained everything he was doing and why. When he ran into the problem of not having the correct nozzle, he quickly made the decision to use my emergency nozzle I keep for that reason. He promised, and delivered on that promise, to replace the nozzle as quickly as possible. With people like Noah working for your organization, I am more than willing to renew my contract with Folkes in the future.

Customer had no heat coming from kids rooms on second floor, went to air handler to find it blowing cold air but supply line hot return line cold, also found leaking air vent and shut off valve leaking, drained down zone and replaced air vent and shut off valve for kids room air handler, purged system, pumped antifreeze back into system, supply and return pipes got hot, had a105 degrees coming from vents, system operational and working.
Gave the customer pricing for the replacement of thermostats Run new wire for guest house and install thermostat, install thermostat for main house and connect C wire. Enough wires are already there. Replaced the thermostats and performed the work today. All systems are working and operational.
Installed peerless oil fired boiler with Beckett burner and tankless coil, all new components required by boiler installation, pipping and wiring as needed for a 2 zone valve system. 1/5/22- installed 2 Honeywell T6 pro WiFi thermostats. Setup app with customer and tested zones.
Completed annual maintenance on one heat pump system with MA.
Cleaned and serviced oil boiler. No issues to report.
Customer has a interesting setup has a on demand triangular tube boiler but also has a hydro water wood boiler attached so when he feeds the wood boiler the on demand boiler shuts down at 120 degrees, boiler wasn’t shuttting down had found the aquastat for pipe on wood boiler is going bad, customer will replace aquastat on piping, but did get everything to work.
Customer has issues with condensation building up on all his windows, air leaks around furnace, heat pump lock out temp, and how to use and maintain his ductless units, checked customers steam humidifier and found it is set for 25% but reading 35%, explained to customer that it’s set up correctly but humidity in home is higher due to possible air leaks around windows, suggested to have windows evaluated by contractor, and or turn off humidifier. Sealed all ductwork around furnace with foil tape, tested, and found no air leaks, also went through app and made sure all perimeters were set up correctly, heat pump compressor lock out is set for 30f, tested, system operational, walked through ductless unit functions with customer, explained how to clean filters and how to work the remotes for units.
Found primary control locked out. Before heating reset I checked nozzle, electrodes, transformer, cad cell eye, all components looked good. Found air filter completely plugged up. Replaced air filter, checked for air in oil line none found. After replacing filter I reset primary control and furnace fired up. Furnace stayed running for 30 minutes at which point I turned unit off and restarted to make sure furnace would fire back up, furnace fired back up once again and stayed running, furnace did not teip. Customer has cleaning in January. System is running normally.
Completed annual clean and service of one gas fired high efficiency wall hung boiler. Removed and cleaned flame sensor. Checked all components of system. Performed combustion analysis. Wiped down boiler. Found no issues to report at this time of service.
Cleaned and serviced one oil furnace, changed return filter 18x20x1, vacuumed inside combustion chamber and around furnace, changed filter, nozzle, and strainer, cleaned electrodes and burner head, bled oil line, took delta t reading which was 70 degrees, performed combustion and efficiency test which everything looked good, system operational and working.
Service to install new 50 gallon atmospheric vented propane water heater. Heater installed and work area cleaned. Payment received. Note- Two installs were completed on this date. First water heater was installed and found to be defective. Initial install removed; and a second new water heater was installed.
This is to rebuild and replace the fill valve and supply Folkes arrived on 11/11/2021 for a toilet that wouldn’t stop filling. Upon arrival I looked in the tank and noticed that the fill valve wouldn’t stop. I recommended doing a partial rebuild. Customer agreed and I moved forward with the work. I started by turning the water off to the toilet and drained out the water in the tank. I then removed the supply line, flapper, and fill valve. I then replaced the flapper and fill valve and secured them the the tank. I then replaced the supply line and turned the water back on. There are no leaks at this time. I adjusted the flapper and fill valve and everything is working a t this time. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.
Service for pilot light not working. Arrived to the home to find that the burner and pilot are not operating properly. The basement is currently under construction and there is a massive amount of Sheetrock dust and debris in the fire chamber of the water heater. The burner has been building up for quite some time because the system was never shut down and sealed while all the construction dust was in the air. The burner is so caked with soot that it needs to be replaced along with the thermocouple and pilot assembly. Also the water heater flu and fire chamber will have to be cleaned and vacuumed. Tried to contact Amy to get authorization for work so we can go ahead and order the parts, but we were unable to reach her. Left a message and emailed the pictures and the quote over to the address on file. The water heater is inoperable at this time. Customer had no heat in home, first went down to furnace and found roll out switches tripped, reset switches and furnace came on ran for 30 seconds and shut off then threw a code for A15 and A18 heat exchanger getting overheated, the heat exchanger will need to be replaced as well as gas valve due to not being able to adjust high and low fire springs in gas valve, heat pump not coming on due to compressor locked out on 01 code low pressure, low side pressure at 36 and high side pressure at 80, recharged system with 16 pounds of 410 performed electronic leak search but could not detect leak, ran system for about a half hour checked every single vent in home and had a delta t reading of 28-34 degrees, system operational and working will need to follow up about heat exchanger and gas valve.
