Cleaned and serviced two gas finagle tube boilers. Checked all components, Venturi’s were not cracked or broken. Ignitor were cleaned. Cleared both traps for the units and tested the systems.
Cleaned and serviced oil boiler. Replaced the filter, strainer and nozzle. Brushed and vacuumed heat exchanger. Took a combustion test as well. Found the ignitor to be weak, replaced the ignitor and the electrodes and tested the system after repairs were made. No other issues to report. System is operational.
No hot water and heat, found Oil burner with intermittent issue, works when it wants to, tested transformer igniter, checked electrodes, adjusted, checked flow of oil, no air, checked oil burner motor, found motor receiving power but not turning over, motor bearing are failing, needs to be replaced. Also recommended replacing electrodes (tips are burnt and chard back),burner head (found crack on burner head),and nozzle assembly (threads are stripped).
Replaced display module on Lennox ductless unit, tested, through WiFi thermostat, system operational.
System is tripping primary control intermittently. Checked electrode settings, igniter, oil delivery, o.k.. did find delayed ignition. Found burner set to bet over aired. 6.1% co2. Adjusted combustion settings to manufacturers specifications. Found no more delayed ignition and tested multiple times.
Completed annual maintenance on one oil fired boiler, changed filter, nozzle, and strainer, vacuumed combustion chamber and flu pipe, inspected all water components, did notice boiler pressure was at 20 while running which is a little high gave customer estimate for expansion tank, also customer stated every once in awhile boiler will short cycle when there is a call for hot water, cycled boiler multiple times could not get it to recreate itself, the zone valve for hot water heater hasn’t been changed in awhile could be taking awhile for valve to make contact to switch gave customer estimate for zone valve as well. Combustion tested normal, no leaks, system operational and working.
Oil burner had primary control that tripped, checked nozzle assembly, checked firematic valves and found no issues, reset primary control and unit fired up, oil line had an air pocket that resulted in primary to trip system operational.
Service for free water test: arrived to home to meet customer went into basement to look at existing system: went into basement to find old well tank from 2006 that had some surface rust on it. Went over constant pressure system with system and explained how that system would remove that tank for a smaller tank. Went over to water treatment and found that customer just had air charged unit and no softener. Explained to customer how they could keep the air charge unit and add a well water conditioner to it. Also found that customer had older ultraviolet lamp went over system with customer and gave customer estimate to upgrade. Tested water to make sure equipment would work. Customer is going to look over units and get back to us. Customer is satisfied with service.
Two leaks in basement, one from behind refrigerator in basement, told customer to take refrigerator outside, 2nd leak is at furnace, found clogged drain line for ac, flushed, tested, system operational. Also recommend maintenance on both units, changed 1st floor air filter due to it being clogged.
Clean and service Oil with MA, customer had another contractor install kick heaters in kitchen which added air in water lines, purged all zones, tested heat in all areas, system operational.
Customer had no AC on first floor, had customer turn system on air handler running but condenser not coming on, opened wiring compartment and found broken common wire from on top of contactor, fixed wiring connection and turned power on, system fired up. Checked standing pressures which were normal 75/245 SH 24/SC 11.3. Took temperature readings of supply and return air and had a difference of 19 degrees. System operational and working.
Will have to return and trying calling tech support again, was on hold waiting to speak with tech support for a hour and half, indoor unit has blank display, has Honeywell wireless thermostat for unit, thermostat calling for cool, have voltage going to unit on indoor and outdoor side but unit will not turn on inside and compressor does not turn on either, condenser has blue light flashing continuous on outdoor control board. Will have to set something up with customer to come back preferably earlier in the day to get on the phone with tech support first thing in morning. Office has credit card to bill home owner for this diagnostic.
Customer had stated first floor condenser louder than second floor, had customer turn first floor unit on did t make any noise on first cycle, tested capacitor which was in range, no error codes on control board, took amp readings of compressor which was 13.2, fan motor amp reading was 1.39. Cycled system back on did make a little more noise then second floor unit on start up, but noise is just compressor firing up after that system runs smooth. Noise is windings in compressor when first starting. No problems at unit normal operation.
Installed all thermostats and set the settings inside. All are working. Had to change the zoning panel for the master bedroom to support these thermostats.
Completed a full dryer vent cleaning. Put the camera down the line before and after. Removed the clog and everything else. Hooked back up the line tested and ran properly.
