Here because customer is concerned with how cold the basement is, especially the mechanical room. After talking with homeowner about the situation he seems to have a better understanding of the issue. He was just curious because they have the thermostat downstairs set on 80 but it’s still always 63°. I explained to him that this zone probably hasn’t opened all summer but even when a zone damper is closed you get a small amount of air that can pass through, since this is also in the basement where it’s already very cold anyway.
I completed a diagnostic. System was low on Freon. I added refrigerant. airflow to upstairs is bad due to current ductwork. I explained a couple different options to the customer. System is operational at time of departure.
I found no low voltage and indicator lights on circuit board were blank. I took the wiring apart and eliminated zone board then connected to furnace and now there is proper voltage from rewiring. 2009 Lennox propane system is operating at time of departure.
