Professional Service - No Sales Pressure

When my furnace stopped working, I wanted to find a company to fix it that wouldn’t just automatically tell me that my 29-year-old unit couldn’t be fixed and had to be replaced. I searched the internet and found Huft Home Services. I had seen their vans about town, but I wanted to look into them further, so I went to the Better Business Bureau website. On the site you can read customers’ reviews and complaints, the company’s response to any complaints, and whether the resolution offered by the company is acceptable to the complainant. There were two complaints on the site, and I read them both. The company’s responses were very reasonable and fair – they resolved the issues to the complainants’ satisfaction. That’s how I knew Huft was the company I wanted to hire. Bradley arrived to fix the unit, which he diagnosed as a failure of the fan motor. Knowing how old my unit was, while he was installing the new motor, I asked him if he could give me an estimate to replace my entire HVAC system. After the motor was replaced, we sat down and he asked several questions about my house to ensure he would quote me a unit that was appropriate. After he gave me the initial quote, I asked for a quote for a slightly higher efficiency rated unit, and he gave me that also. I decided to go with the higher efficiency unit. He then said he would call his boss to see if I could get a credit back for the new motor that was just installed, which they did. So, I had heat until the scheduled install date, and didn’t have to pay for the new motor! On the day of installation of the new unit, Todd and Angel arrived on time, masked up, and ready to go. They kept me informed about everything they were doing, as there was some testing of the unit that had to happen. And they left the worksite tidy. They were courteous and professional – everything you can ask for when you let someone into your home. Thank you to everyone at Huft involved in my installation – they made it a pleasure doing business with them.

Recommend adding refrigerant to proper level and search for possible leak within the system. System is operational at this time. Upon arrival customer had leaking water heater and a lot of visible rust to indicate tank failure. Customer had house repiped but no service was done to water heater. Due to condition of tank and age do not not advise attempting to repair due to may not resolve issue. If customer goes with repair instead of replacing no warranty will be given or refund after work has been done. Gave customer estimate to replace entire tank.

Customer request heating inspection service performed heating inspection service on gas operated furnace removed inspected and clean flame sensor adjusted gas pressure to 3.5 inches of water column inspected all systems safeties and connections found system is operating properly with a 49° heat rise. During inspection found that blower assembly is pressed up against a return duct limiting the amount of air the duct can pull through it. As per customer request will return with install team to extend the return Plenum by approximately 3 inches box size is 29x21.5. Customer signed up for superhero membership today as well as purchase today’s visit customer will have two future visits one AC than one heating .

Would need to perform leak search to determine where unit is losing refrigerant. Unit uses r22 refrigerant and holds 121 oz. (7.5 lbs). Signed up on club membership for routine maintenance and savings. Recommend replacing hvac due to age/reliability, operating condition/cost of repairs and r22 phaseout.
