Preformed AC maintenance on (2) units. Checked all electrical wiring and connections. Flushed drain hose and checked fittings. Washed outdoor coil. Checked refrigerant system. Arrived on-site, checked in with the customer, reviewed the WE Energies form left, and assessed what was going on. The atmospheric water heater installed is having venting issues. B vent from water heater goes to a 7” pipe routed into the chimney. The 7” pipe has a rust hole in it that will need to be fixed. We propose to install a new 4” chimney liner kit to route from the chimney outside down to the basement and to be tied into the water heater in question. Once repair is made, turn water heater on and back in operation. Check for any leaks and confirm venting is working properly.
Went over usage report sent from Lennox with the customer. Showed him that the total runtime hours was the heating demand and fan demand hours added up. Customer had no more questions at this time.
Upon arrival found furnace calling for heat at thermostat but only fan was running found a couple issues. 1st one was high limit was disconnected causing unit to fault out and fan running. Once that was plugged back in correctly I tested unit and fan would still come on first befor inducer due to new ac 2 wire when placed in terminals was stripped to far and old humidifier wires that were still in place causing g to energize. I removed all old wiring to a humidifier that is no longer installed to eliminate any future problems. Warranty no charge install was done today.
Service professional arrived with the new 32k grain water softener. Located a good location to cut into the existing hard water and return the hard water to the existing hose bibs while bringing the new soft water to the rest of the house. Purged the available fixtures of air and tested the new installation with no leaks or issues. Set the new softener to 28 grains of hardness.
