Help us out

We were out of town and my 19 year old daughter was home alone, of course this is when our heating and cooling system decides to stop working! I did the google thing and there is Hurlburt, called them and they sent a guy right over, done! I liked that the office lady said all of their technicians are drug and background checked since my daughter was home. We'll be using them in the future.

Responded to service call for Lennox gas furnace (3 years old) making humming noise. Customer had already resolved initial rattling by adjusting humidifier damper from summer to winter position. Discovered water leakage in lower cabinet due to incorrect furnace pitch; removed front pads and re-pitched unit to proper orientation. Noted humidifier functioning improperly with clogged pad; recommended seasonal damper operation, but customer declined humidifier repair.

Performed scheduled furnace inspection under recurring service agreement. Diagnosed intermittent heating failure caused by dirty flame sensor and failing inducer draft motor (operating with high amperage). Cleaned flame sensor as temporary solution to restore operation, but recommended replacement of both flame sensor and inducer motor as permanent repairs for this 18-year-old unit.

Responded to service call for a Samsung mini-split heat pump (approximately 1.5 years old) exhibiting intermittent C4 error codes and no heat operation. Upon testing, unit immediately entered defrost mode when temperature was increased. Consulted with technical support and performed diagnostic testing on temperature sensors, finding multiple sensors operating outside of specification parameters. Identified potential control board failure. Will return with replacement temperature sensors, wiring harness, and control board. If issues persist after component replacement, refrigerant charge will be evaluated.

Responded to service call for a furnace producing excessive noise during startup and shutdown. Diagnosed the issue as a malfunctioning zone damper for the basement that was intermittently sticking closed, causing restricted airflow when both basement and upstairs dampers were closed simultaneously. Temporarily left the basement zone open to alleviate the noise issue until permanent replacement of the zone damper can be scheduled.

Performed comprehensive furnace tune-up service, including inspection of heat exchanger via camera, verification of burners, blower, inducer, pressure switch, safety switches, limit switches, flame sensor, and igniter. Customer reported loud banging noise when furnace turns off; although noise could not be replicated during service, noted potential source may be the blower motor. System was cycled to verify safe and proper operation, with all components currently functioning normally.
