Help us out

We were out of town and my 19 year old daughter was home alone, of course this is when our heating and cooling system decides to stop working! I did the google thing and there is Hurlburt, called them and they sent a guy right over, done! I liked that the office lady said all of their technicians are drug and background checked since my daughter was home. We'll be using them in the future.

Performed furnace tune-up and identified root causes of home condensation issues. Corrected furnace pitch that was causing condensate leaks from the secondary, and sealed intake/exhaust penetrations at siding with silicone to prevent water intrusion. Verified all electrical components within specifications, heat exchanger integrity intact, and confirmed proper system operation with 65-degree temperature rise.

Responded to no-heat callback on Comfortmaker furnace (approximately 4 years old) that was experiencing ignition fault codes. Diagnosed a plugged condensate trap that was causing the pressure switch connected to the LP gas regulator to trip. Removed trap, performed thorough cleaning, reinstalled components, and verified proper operation with multiple test cycles.

Diagnosed no heat issue in approximately 5-6 year old furnace. Investigation revealed faulty control board with no 120VAC present at the motor. Confirmed blower motor could spin freely when manually rotated. Replaced defective control board to restore proper system operation and provided customer with rewards program information.

Diagnosed and resolved heating complaint by identifying thermostat was reading 3°F lower than actual room temperature due to cold air infiltration through wall penetration behind unit. Installed foam insulation behind thermostat to seal air leak, resulting in accurate temperature readings. Increased boiler maximum water temperature from 174°F to 182°F to improve heating capacity during extreme cold conditions.

Responded to no heat call for 12-4 NG Gibson furnace. Diagnosed open limit/rollout switch fault with furnace sitting cold. Found main limit switch with abnormal resistance (4-5 ohms) showing signs of overheating, and capacitor measuring 2 μF despite 5 μF rating. Noted additional issues including oil-leaking blower motor, dirty blower wheel restricting airflow, evaporator coil buildup, and intermittent burner ignition. Assessment suggests oversized furnace (80,000 BTU) for the home's ductwork system.

Diagnosed furnace failing to maintain temperature due to pressure switch fault code. Initially cleared debris from pressure switch hoses, but issue persisted even after bypassing switches. Further inspection revealed loose solder joints on control board causing false pressure switch readings. Submitted order for replacement control board to resolve the intermittent heating problem.

Responded to ongoing no heat issue in Lennox furnace. Diagnosed failure caused by missing strip inside secondary heat exchanger tubes, which allowed excessive heat concentration on collector box causing it to melt and crack. Replaced collector box to restore heat, documented issue with photos, and recommended contacting manufacturer regarding the defective secondary heat exchanger to prevent recurrence.
