I performed a cool home visit in cooling. The homeowner is having some issues with his thermostat and wants to schedule a return visit to install a nexia 850 and remote sensor during the week of April 22.

Arrived to home and I was here during the summer when the heat would not turn off. I was under the impression they were going to replace the tstat on their own last visit because the stat was bad. The got them up and running with cooling. This visit it won’t switch over again because the tstat was not replaced so I bypassed it to come on in heating but it’s the same situation, when summer comes around cooling won’t work. I know they want that specific nest thermostat. But we may be able to find one it may not look the same and match the other stat. I couldn’t reach the dad again to go over this but if he calls the office I would be happy to explain. My recommendation would be to install a ecobee tstat, they are excellent units and dependable. I will leave an estimate since I couldn’t offer as the owner was not home his son was. Unit running at departure
Performed a cool home check on both systems. The main house unit was displaying a low charge. I did a quick check and found the outdoor coil. Had a leak on a U tube joint. I found at the air handler. The secondary pan was full and the primary drain was clogged. I cleared the condensate and added the safety switch. I angled the primary pan further to help drain. I brazed the leak shut on the outdoor unit and charged it back to factory specifications. The unit is operating properly. The homeowner has an issue with the front bedroom that is hot. I told the homeowner once the unit is operating properly we will check this problem persists and if it does call back in and we will assess the issue.

The inrush kit has gone bad causing the capacitor to swell and go bad. The condensing switch is burnt from repeated starts. The unit needs a dual cap in Rush kit and a switch. I replaced the cap,inrush kit and switch. The unit is working properly
Arrive to home and customer had two units, one unit was maintaining 80° and had a 21° temperature differential the other unit it was 87 in the home and the unit was running and heating and cooling due to a bad nest thermostat. We installed this unit two years ago and customer change thermostat out a year or so back. I just remove the heating low-voltage wire so that they had cooling, and the customer is going to replace the nest thermostat. I did charge them the trip and diagnostic because this was not related to our install. I told them if they want us to install the nest thermostat it would be an hour labor.. Unit running at departure with a 23° temperature differential.
