Service call for a blower motor making a loud whistling noise. Technician inspected the blower motor and the capacitor. The amp draw on the motor is fine but the capacitor is weak. The static pressure was high due to a dirty filter which was causing the loud whistling noise. Replaced the filter here today and got the static pressure down and the noise taken care of. Customer was also interested in running a new gas line for propane to the furnace and doing a propane conversion. Estimates were given to the customer to consider.
Annual maintenance on a 2016 Ameristar air conditioner. The system is in great shape and running as it should here today. Replaced the (1) 20x25x1 filter, washed the condenser out, and blew the drain line out. All the amp draws were good here today and the capacitors on the outdoor unit are within spec. The blower motor capacitor is weak reading 8 out of 10 but the system is running and cooling as it should here today.
Arrived and completed a thorough evaluation of all plumbing inside the home. Checked all faucets for proper flow and no leaks. Checked all drains for proper draining and no leaks. Inspected all toilets for proper flush with no issues or leaks around base or tank. Inspected water heater for any signs of rust or leaks. I found the water heater isn’t up to code. Both bathrooms don’t have shutoffs under the sinks. Toilet fill valve in hall bath will spray water sometimes. The hot and cold shutoff to the washing machine won’t turn off. As well as customer would like us to install a proper clean out for her sewer line. Emailed over multiple quotes for her and her husband to look over and let us know which option they would like to go with.
Maintenance call on two 2021 Rheem units. The systems are in great shape here today and running exactly as they should. Both indoor and outdoor units have ecm fan motors so surge protection is recommended to protect those motors from any power spikes.
For this job, Customer states the unit keeps freezing up and not cooling the house. Technician arrived to the system shut off to keep it from freezing up. After giving the system power again the outdoor unit will come on but not the indoor blower motor. Technician found the mother control board will not send power to the blower motor to turn it on. Technician made several options for repairs. Customer wanted to move forward with the surge protector, Friends and Family Club, as well as replacement of the control board. After replacement system works great at this time.
