Tech found system was slightly low on charge tech charged system with 15oz of 410A to get desired Subcool to 8. Systems doesn’t have any leaks tech suspects company who installed never charged system for line set difference. Customer signed up for PSA system is back cooling with 18 delta t.
Tech replaced blower board and found board turning blower on and off properly.
Upon arrival tech found low refrigerant pressures. Customer opted to charge system up only. Tech added 2.5 lbs of R410. System is back up and cooling.
Upon arrival tech found blower not running due to failed blower relay board. Tech bypassed board for now to get system running. Will need to get pricing for new board on Monday and call customer for approval.
Tech performed esa on carrier split heat pump, found no challenges at todays visit Twobboyz@aol.com
Tech couldn’t perform esa at todays visit Home is vacant, no water or power to system
Tech found fuse blown due to shorted pressure switch wires. Tech repaired short and insulated multiple other wire runs to prevent future issues. Minor repair charge only per office. Tech also noted system is a 2 stage but wire as single stage. Tech did not rewire due to the possibility it was wired as a single stage intentionally due to oversizing. Not our install
Upon arrival tech was informed system was not blowing air out of vents. Inspected system and found blower was running as well as outdoor fan and compressor. Compressor was extremely hot to the touch but mega ohm good. Tech went under the building and found the 16” return torn in half and sucked inside itself. Return went to a 16x14x14 wye. Also found multiple areas in trunk line where insulation was torn off and supply lines in rough shape. Recommend replacing entire duct system due to condition. Ms. Ruffin informed tech that they did have people working in crawlspace recently and it was blowing out fine before that. Contacted office to get field supervisor out for quote. Tech left breaker off at disconnect.
Tech washed and serviced unit and found evap coil rust but no leaks at this time unit is up and cooling with a delta t of 21.
Tech installed 240v condensate pump in crawlspace at air handler. Ran condensate pump tubing all the way out to exit to prevent further uphill drainage issues. Tested pump after installation, system is draining properly. Install warranty.
SYSTEM INSTALLED LAST YEAR FOUND DRIAN LINE BACKED UP DUE TO IMPROPER SLOPE FROM SYSTEM TO FOUNDATION EXIT. EXIT AT FOUNDATION CANNOT GO ANY LOWER. ELECTRICAL OUTLET WILL NEED TO BE RAN/115V CONDENSATE PUMP INSTALLED, OR 240V PUMP INSTALLED TO AIR HANDLER. ONLY HAD 115V PUMP ON HAND. CUT DRAIN IN CRAWLSPACE FOR TIME BEING. WARRANTY.
Tech found fan running but not compressor due to a failed capacitor. Tech replaced capacitor under parts warranty and found system otherwise working properly. System is back up and running. Tech strongly recommends a maintenance plan to keep system running efficiently for as long as possible. Customer agreed to a monthly ESA plan.
Talked to tech Spencer, no leak in coil and compressor megged green. Capacitor was bad.
Tech found compressor unable to start and going into overload due to a failed capacitor. Tech also found a worn contactor, corroded evaporator coil, rust in drain pan, water damage in air handler, dirty evaporator coil and blower motor. Tech recommends replacing unit due to age, condition and type of refrigerant and frequent drain clogs due to rusty coils. Tech also made customer aware of the importance of maintenance. Customer only wanted to replace capacitor at this time. Field supervisor notified
