Removed old tankless heater and installed a new customer supplied tankless heater.
Started to remove the tankless water heater then found out the customer had bought a natural gas heater and they need a propane water heater.
Tech found pilot light for hanging heater in truck bay not staying lit. Tech suspects faulty thermocouple. Tech replaced thermocouple for testing purposes and pilot flame stayed lit. Tech tested heater without challenges. Heater displays signs of age, but is operating properly at this time. Tech collected for service call and repair.
Performed PSA maintenance on system once repairs were done. Tech cleaned coils and drain. Found no further issues. Customer declined to extend maintenance. Says she needs to talk to her family and call back in if she wants to extend. Please print paper copy.
Tech pumped refrigerant back down into outdoor unit. Replaced indoor TXV and biflow drier. Flowed nitrogen while brazing. Low side of system passed positive and negative pressure test. Released refrigerant back through system and tested. System is back cooling properly. Collected for repair. Need to mail paper copy of receipt and 1 year guarantee to 102 Devin lanes. Explained that we don't have a printer on the truck.

Tech arrived to do maintenance TTE. Tech found system was not cooling due to being void of refrigerant. Tech found high pressure switch braze joint leaking. System is 9 years old. Customer reported no interest in system replacement. Approved braze repair. Tech brazed high pressure switch and replaced biflow drier while flowing nitrogen. System passed positive and negative pressure test and tech recharged system. Tried to use zip ties to secure high pressure switch and braze joint broke free again. Tech recovered refrigerant and made braze repair again using more silver solder. Tech tugged on it again slightly. It seems more secure. System passed positive and negative pressure test again. Tech recharged system again and tested. Tech found suction pressure very low in cooling mode. Subcooling and superheat are very high. Tech diagnosed indoor TXV is also not metering properly. Visually inspected indoor TXV and found no rubbing on sensing bulb line. Tried switching reversing valve back an
Tech performed esa on one system, tech did not find any issues with system at todays visit. System is back on and operating properly at this time. Customer renewed esa.
Found evaporator coil frozen upon arrival. Allowed coil to thaw and monitored pressures running slightly low at 110/300 Added AC leak freeze, and 2LBS of R410a to achieve proper specs. Changed filter as well. System back up and cooling. Steve approved today’s invoice via phone. System looks to be due for cleaning. Need to schedule maintenance visit.
