Tech performed maintenance per service agreement. Tech found no challenges at todays unit. Tech replaced one 20x20 filter. Tech got 44 degrees coming from supply and 62 on return, giving an 18 degree delta T. Homeowner is aware of age of unit and says unit doesn’t cool as well in summer. Homeowner would like someone to talk to about pricing of new unit. Homeowner will be available next week. Please call for scheduling.

Tech recovered refrigerant charge and flowed nitrogen while brazing in new compressor and filter drier. Added acid away to new compressor. System passed nitrogen pressure test at 180 psi. Purged system with nitrogen thoroughly and pulled vacuum level below 500 microns. System passed standing vacuum test at 410 microns. Charged system with 7 lbs 13 oz of new refrigerant. Tech also replaced melted compressor line voltage plug. Need to order and replace the other compressor plug as well for the high stage DC rectifier. System is running in low stage compressor operation for now. Tested system in each mode without issues. Need to return to replace DC rectifier plug to get new compressor running in second stage. Full warranty.

Upon arrival tech was informed system was not cooling. Tech inspected system and found the contactor had failed again due to ants getting inside it. Homeowner approved replacement of contactor and tech recommended they treat the yard as soon as possible to try and prevent this from happening again. System is operational at this time.

Tech found Tstat for newly installed Trane heat pump blank. Reset new 40 amp breaker and found outdoor fan turning slowly due to back feeding voltage. Tech found 10 volts on Y (between blue and yellow) with no Y call from Tstat. Tech turned off power and unplugged 2 stage compressor. Tech confirmed compressor is shorted to ground. 10 volts is no longer present at low voltage Y circuit with compressor unplugged. Vision Pro responds correctly. Compressor data tag shows signs of heat warping. Compressor wiring harness is partially melted. See picture. Left compressor isolated and unplugged with harness isolated with electrical tape. Found the Vision Pro thermostat wired and set up correctly. Tested the rest of the system from Tstat and found no issues. All other components are responding correctly. Heat strips, blower and outdoor fan are amping correctly. Tech left system in emergency heat. System was installed a few days ago. Need to order new compressor and wiring harness under full
