Kenny C. did everything to determine the cause of why the breaker in the main panel for the furnace was going off after a short time the HVAC system was running. It was clear that the HVAC system was running correctly and he took pictures that proved it. The breaker for the compressor was not tripping and feeds to the breaker at the main panel, so it is obvious that the breaker at the main panel needs to be replaced. Although I wish he could have replaced the breaker, I understand why and will call a licensed electrician to replace the breaker. I am thankful that I have the pictures to prove the situation with the electrician.

An Excellent Learning Experience

I learned from Luis how my new HVAC system was supposed to work at such a detail level that it was clear Luis knew what and how to fix it. In the process of checking the non working system, he pointed out the damaged part in the compressor. He was able to provide a detailed diagnosis so that I was prepared to take it to that next step - actually getting the proper component (the compressor) replaced. Since I could not get a response from the original installer (and questioned their competence anyway), it was obvious that Ruis and his colleagues knew what they were doing and would get the job done.

Tech performed ESA on 1 system. Package hp- tech serviced and cleaned system, found blown UV Bulb tech recommended replacing customer approved. Tech also noticed system doesn’t have hard start kit tech recommended customer stated she will wait and get later in the year. Mail invoice

Tech returned and removed drain, blower assembly and panels to reposition indoor coil and secure with coil clip. Reassembled unit and drain and tested without issue. Collected for repair.

Upon arrival homeowner stated when he would turn breaker on it would immediately trip. Tech then Ohm’d out compressor and found compressor in the green. Also tested to see if it was shorted, which was not. Tech then inspected breaker and found it to have failed. Tech reset breaker and then turned it completely off and found voltage going to the contactor even when breaker is off. Informed homeowner to call an electrician to get breaker replaced. Recommended Wayne electric. Collected for todays visit.

Tech returned and replaced 3 wire power open/power closed zone damper motor for upstairs zone. Tested without issue. Upstairs zone damper is back opening and closing when called from zone board. Collected for repair.

Upon inspection tech found system low on refrigerant, found schrader valve core leaking. Tech replaced valve core after approval as well as added 1lb 4oz of R410a. System is cooling with an 18 degree delta t. Collected $258.13 by card.

Tech performed one system ESA, Tech recommends adding float switch on primary drain pan to prevent drain from getting clogged and backfilling into auxiliary pan, tech also recommends adding surge protection to system to protect major components from being damaged by power surge/ lightning strikes. Tech recommended replacing Contactor due to pitting and humming noise. tech found no other issues at todays visit and system is back on and operating properly at this time. Customer is going to call next week to renew.
