Exceptional service

Matthew was prompt and efficient as well as informative. I must say that everyone at Jackson and Son that I’ve interacted with so far have had such a positive effect. Both on the quality of their work and their customer service. It’s rare in these times to find a company you can trust and have confidence in. I’m glad my neighbor across the street recommended Jackson and Son as in the future I will do as well.

I can not praise enough

Another technician came for scheduled maintenance, and a part broke while he was servicing. Jackson & Sons sent Luis quickly to reoair the part, and at no charge. I am so glad I changed from another company who broke my attic ladder and never reported it to me, much less cover the repair. I am overwhelmed at the conscientious and kind customer service from this company.

Tech found delta t to be only 1 degrees upon arrival, tech found heat strip relay allowing heat strips to run non stop tech replaced with Contactor after approval. System is now back cooling properly tech recommended service agreement customer didn’t want to do at this time.

Tech preformed preventative maintenance and serviced system. Customer was not home during service. Tech was unable to check delta t. Tech also found Crawlspace to be locked and was unable to inspect duct and crawlspace condition. Tech recommended hard start kit to lower start amps and preserve the life of the compressor. Tech could not contact customer via phone call. Tech sent customer message and will respond accordingly.

Tech washed and serviced unit, tech found rusty evaporator coils but no leaks detected. Tech recommended replacing media filters and extending ESA, customer approved both. Unit is heating and cooling properly at this time and has a delta T of 17.

Tech washed and serviced unit, found no challenges at this time. Customer wasn’t home mother in law gave access to home. Tech called customer and recommended 3 media filters, customer not interested at this time. Used two 14x20s and a 20x20. Unit is heating and cooling properly and downstairs has a delta T of 18. And upstairs has a delta T of 20.

Customer reported system not heating or cooling. Tech did not see a flash code at ignition control. Tech gave system a heating call and burners lit. Confirmed manifold pressure of 3.5" WC to burners. Flames appear normal. Per service history, tech inspected low voltage fuse and transformer and found no issue. Measured 28 volts from transformer. Tech noticed filter in ceiling is visably dirty and there is also a media filter box mounted to furnace. Media filter inside is dirty. There is no clearance to slide media filter out the right side of the unit due to wall. See picture. We can possibly cut the filter out, but cannot fit a new filter in due to wall clearance. Tech allowed system to heat continuously for 15 minutes. Switched to cooling mode. System ran normally in cooling mode. Removed internals of media filter and collected minor repair fee. Replaced two 14*20 filters. Waived housecall per office. Email is crwooden2020@icloud.com

Tech found low voltage fuse blown inside crawlspace gas furnace. He had already repaired low voltage short at thermostat wires by outdoor unit. Tech verified that the thermostat wires appeared to be the issue. Ran system in heat and in cooling. Collected housecall. Customer wants to discuss system replacement for 20 year old system around March. Please call back around March 1st. Informed Meredith to put on schedule.

On arrival, customer reports system is not heating and he found the threaded brass cap screwed onto suction side king valve to be leaking oil. He says he tightened it and it stopped leaking. Tech used soap bubbles and confirmed it does not appear to be leaking after customer tightened cap. Header at indoor coil appears to be oily. We found it leaking R22 in July. Capacitors are in specs. Compressor amp draw is high in heat mode, but not overamping. Head pressure, suction pressure, and subcooling are all very high. Confirmed system is slightly overcharged per charging chart. Tech found w2 tstat wire disconnected from electric furnace. Jumped W2 and heat 3 stack sequencer did turn on all 3 heat strips. Tested heat strips three times. 2 of 3 atrips energized after 15 seconds. Third heat strip energized after 90 seconds. Third heat strip deenergized after 15 seconds. 2nd strip deenergized at 35 seconds. First strip turned off after 45 seconds. Could not duplicate any challenge with 3 stac
