Found system with a bad transformer and control board also stated if customer went with repair they should have an in line low voltage fuse installed to protect the control board as this was probably what damaged both components. Due to the age and condition of the furnace I reccommend system replacement customer agreed and plans to replace them selves. Shut off gas to the unit did not disconnect power as its in line with other equipment.
