Had a great 1st experience with Jerms plumbing from a service prospective. I like the text and email appt. confirmations. They were very accommodating with appt. time. Tracey was detailed and communicative. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I'm not a fan of the $59 "Dispatch Fee". I understand charging a visit fee if no work is completed but don't agree with adding visit fee on top of $350+ worth of work. Also thought $350+ was a little pricey for re-setting a toilet & changing flange - wasn't quite an hour worth of work.

I had a couple of small projects done on one day. They did them all very well and described all of the options and pricing before letting me choose which direction to go. They were friendly and made sure to clean up any mess before they left. I appreciated being updated on the entire scheduling and arrival time via text, including a picture of the people who would be arriving at my house before hand. The whole process was very straightforward and the work was done well.

Shower Valve: -The shower valve is not functioning properly, possible due to a worn cartridge, resulting in low cold-water pressure. We replaced the existing cartridge with a new Delta 1991 model in an attempt to restore proper water flow and ensure reliable shower performance. -The water supply was shut off and the system fully drained. The valve handle and cartridge were removed, and the water was turned on slightly to test flow from the valve body. We observed minimal flow from the cold side and normal flow from the hot side, indicating a probable internal valve failure. The valve body was cleaned, and new springs, seats, and a Delta cartridge were installed using appropriate lubricant. After restoring water service and testing operation, there was no improvement in fixture performance, confirming a valve failure requiring full replacement. Tub Spout: -The existing tub spout was difficult to operate and not functioning as intended. We replaced it with a new chrome top-lever style sp
Removed the existing toilet and attempted to install a Kohler Cimarron model. Upon inspection, found that the existing flange was set for a 10” rough-in, while the Cimarron toilet requires a 12” rough-in. After confirming with the supply house that 10” rough-in Kohler Cimarron models are no longer produced, we installed a new Kohler Highline elongated comfort-height toilet designed for a 10” rough-in. The customer also joined the Jerms Home Care Club for ongoing discounts and exclusive membership benefits.
Arrived onsite to evaluate a propane boiler and HVAC system. The home has a 24-year-old Peerless boiler, a 19-year-old Rinnai tankless water heater, a mini split, and a central A/C system. The boiler has multiple issues and significant corrosion on the piping. I informed them that we can service the HVAC system in the spring. They also expressed interest in adding heat to two sunrooms. We discussed several options, including baseboard heaters, room heaters, and mini splits. They decided they would like estimates for replacing the boiler and water heater, as well as for adding heat to the sunrooms. We will follow up to schedule a consultation.
Findings: The left-side basket strainer and tailpieces were corroded, and the existing drain piping exhibited improper pitch, which could lead to drainage issues and potential leaks. Recommendations: We recommended replacing the corroded components and correcting the pipe pitch to ensure proper drainage and prevent future leaks. Work Performed: All existing tubular drainage components, including the P-trap, tee fitting, tailpieces, and basket strainer, were removed. All connection surfaces were cleaned thoroughly. A new basket strainer was installed using plumber’s putty and securely tightened. New tailpieces, a tee fitting, a tubular connection from the garbage disposal, a tailpiece extension, and a P-trap were installed using thread sealant on all gaskets and tightened securely. Both sink basins were filled completely and drained to test for leaks. No leaks were observed at this time, and the drainage system is currently operating properly
-Upon arrival tech found multiple issues throughout the system. Toilet in basement bathroom was running by. To address this tech replace flush valve. Tech replaced flapper style valve with canister style valve. Tech also replaced tank to bowl gasket. New handle is needed. Tech did not have correct one available. Return visit is necessary. -Tech also found that basement bathroom lavatory trap was extremely corroded and the pop up assembly was broken and stuck in the closed position. Tech removed 1-1/4” chrome traps with new tubular plastic trap to prevent future corrosion. Tech also replaced tank pop up assembly and tailpiece. -tech proceeded to check the utility room. Tech found that the constant pressure pressure tank was water logged and softener had not been serviced for a long time. Tech removed and replaced. 2 gallon pressure tank, removed and replaced injector and screen in softener, adjusted settings, adjusted time, and replaced 4x10 sediment filter with customer supplied se
Removed the existing shower valve and installed a new homeowner-supplied 3-way shower valve with rain head, side sprayer, and tub spout. Added necessary blocking to securely support the valve, sprayer, shower head, and tub spout, ensuring solid and reliable operation. Per homeowner request, the old shower bar was removed after advising that removal would leave two visible screw holes. The homeowner chose to have the holes filled with silicone only. Noted that the previous plumber had drilled two holes for the tub spout and left a large gap filled with silicone. Assisted the homeowner in selecting a suitable tub spout finish ring to cover the exposed area (as shown in photos). The homeowner has ordered the part and will install it upon arrival.
We installed a new Ideal boiler, performed a gas leak check for 3 mins and observed no pressure drop. We also measured gas pressure during operation of the boiler and during standby. Both pressures are wi5in specifications. Efficiency was observed at 98% at low fire. We purged all heating loops of air and verified zones were circulating. We performed a combustion test at high and low fire, both levels fell within manufacturer parameter. We tested the condensation pump and it performed as designed, the system is running well at this time. We had to remove the water heater during the boiler installation. The water heater was installed with pex piping from the main lines to the water heater. When we re-installed the water heater we piped both the hot and cold lines with copper. We filled the water heater, purged air from the fixtures and verified it was heating. The water at the fixtures is hot at this time. We cleaned up the work area when we were finished and went over the installa
The toilet had a leak from the fill valve, indicating worn or failing components. We recommended replacing the toilet seal, fill valve, and supply line to stop the leak and ensure reliable, leak-free operation. Shut water off to toilet, vacuumed water from tank and removed existing fill valve supply line and toilet flapper. Cleaned all surfaces and installed new toilet fill valve, braided stainless supply line and toilet flapper, adjusted fill level of valve to match water fill line for tank. Flushed toilet numerous times to verify proper operation and to check for leaks with no leaks present and toilet operating properly. Applied blue dye tablet in tank to verify proper operation of flush seal with no water leaking into bowl after 20 minutes.

Performed annual tune up on a mini split system with 2 outdoors and 2 indoors. Cleaned the coils and enclosures of the outdoor units and inspected the electrical compartments—no signs of rodent activity were found. Cleaned the coils, enclosures, and filters of the indoor units, and inspected the condensate pans. Removed and cleaned the blower wheel from the Mitsubishi unit in the living room. Verified proper operation, system is functioning correctly at this time.
Removed the existing kitchen faucet and installed the homeowner-supplied replacement faucet. Left the side sprayer holster from the previous faucet in place. Assisted the homeowner in selecting the correct parts from a parts diagram to repair their previous faucet; the homeowner will order the necessary parts for installation at a later date. All connections were tested and verified leak-free.
Removed the old lavatory faucet, which had been leaking due to overall wear and age. Installed a new chrome Delta two-handle faucet with a matching chrome pop-up assembly. Replaced both supply lines from the shut-off valves to the faucet. Installed a new nut and gasket on the P-trap. Tested the faucet and drain for proper operation — no leaks were found.
Installation Summary – Peerless Oil Boiler with Riello Burner We installed a new Peerless oil-fired boiler equipped with a Riello burner. The installation included new supply and return manifolds, a new relay control, and a new water feeder and backflow prevention combo, along with all necessary piping to connect to the existing supply and return lines. A new smoke pipe was installed from the boiler to the chimney, and new oil lines were run from the existing oil tanks to the new boiler. Upon completion, we tested all system safeties and performed a combustion and draft test to verify proper operation. The system is functioning as intended. At this time, the home does not have Wi-Fi service, so the Nest thermostats are currently inoperative. To ensure safe operation, we installed a temporary non–Wi-Fi thermostat in the main living area. The thermostat was not secured to the wall, as we did not have permission to do so. A note was left for the homeowner explaining that once Wi-Fi is
We were going to look at burner assembly on boiler but customer chose to wait due to the possibility that we might have to shut system down.
