Had a great 1st experience with Jerms plumbing from a service prospective. I like the text and email appt. confirmations. They were very accommodating with appt. time. Tracey was detailed and communicative. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I'm not a fan of the $59 "Dispatch Fee". I understand charging a visit fee if no work is completed but don't agree with adding visit fee on top of $350+ worth of work. Also thought $350+ was a little pricey for re-setting a toilet & changing flange - wasn't quite an hour worth of work.

I had a couple of small projects done on one day. They did them all very well and described all of the options and pricing before letting me choose which direction to go. They were friendly and made sure to clean up any mess before they left. I appreciated being updated on the entire scheduling and arrival time via text, including a picture of the people who would be arriving at my house before hand. The whole process was very straightforward and the work was done well.

Responded to a report of a leak at the boiler. Upon arrival, I found the temperature and pressure relief valve dripping steadily, and I confirmed that the expansion tank had water in the bladder. With approval, I replaced both the failed relief valve and the EX-30 expansion tank. After completing the replacements, I purged air from the system and confirmed proper circulation of hot water. Kim also brought to my attention additional concerns involving the boiler, including a loud rumbling noise during operation and a communication issue between the thermostats and the contact relays. When I first arrived, the burner was off on reset. Carl reported that he has had to press the reset button before to get the basement zone to circulate heat, although he has not needed to reset it for the first or second floor. I pressed the reset button, and the burner lit immediately and continued to run without any problems. I tested the cad cell and confirmed consistent power delivery from the hydrost
Arrived onsite to diagnose a no-heat issue on a Viessmann propane boiler. The boiler was running and up to temperature, calling for domestic hot water. I cycled power and the system called for heat. When we ran the hot water, it called correctly, but the boiler never switched back to heat afterward. I checked the temperature sensor on the water heater and did not find any issues. They had a new aquastat that came with the water heater, so I installed it. Verified operation and confirmed the boiler is now switching properly between heat and hot water. The system is functioning correctly at this time.
Lavatory Pop-Up Assembly Replacement – Upstairs Bathroom: The lavatory pop-up assembly was found to be heavily corroded around the drain base and cap. We recommended replacement to ensure a proper seal, prevent leaks, and restore reliable drainage. Water was shut off and the drainage disconnected, then the pedestal top was removed to complete the repair. The existing pop-up was removed and surfaces were cleaned thoroughly. A new pop-up assembly was installed using plumber’s putty and thread sealant, and fittings were tightened securely. The trap was partially pre-assembled due to limited space, and the pedestal top was reset with new wall anchors and a bead of caulk at the base. The p-trap was reassembled and new braided supply lines were installed. The system was tested with water on, confirming proper operation with no leaks present at this time. Lavatory Replacement Recommendation – Downstairs Bathroom: The downstairs bathroom pop-up assembly was not functioning, preventing proper
Upon arrival customer had a leaking shutoff at their 1st floor lav, a shower with no hot water, and a garbage disposal they wanted installed. Customer wanted to wait to do garbage disposal. I disassembled Moen Posi-temp shower valve and found a corroded section of pipe on cold water inlet. I informed the customer and gave options for a valve replacement but they chose to move forward with just replacing the cartridge. I installed new cartridge and restored full function of the shower. I then removed the old leaking shutoff by unsoldering it. I cleaned the pipe and soldered on a new chrome sleeve soldered angle stop shutoff. I turned the water back on and tested everything. Everything is working well with no leaks present at time of service. Upstairs tub was found to have dysfunctional trip lever. Customer will follow up with a repair for this and the shower valve at another date.
Arrived onsite to replace a failed gas valve on a York propane furnace. During testing of the new gas valve, I noticed that when the blower came on, the flames fluctuated. I checked the carbon monoxide levels in the exhaust, and it was reading over 400 parts per million. Due to this unsafe condition, we are required to red tag the unit, and I advised them that it is not safe to operate. The furnace is approximately 15 years old and showing signs of age. When I originally diagnosed the failed gas valve, the unit was not running. I had also warned them at that time about the furnace’s age and the unknown condition of the heat exchanger. They would like a quote to replace the furnace and to install mini-splits. 1500 sq. ft house with a 80k btu propane furnace. 25 ft of 2 inch pvc vent with 5 90s. Needs filter rack. Return plenum 20 x 16.5, supply 19.5 x 16, only has 2 returns.
We removed the existing Symmons shower valve due to its ongoing leak and installed a new Delta shower valve to provide improved reliability and long-term performance. The wall was opened as needed to allow proper access, and the new valve was set in place with all required fittings, ensuring every connection was secured to current plumbing standards. After installation, the system was thoroughly tested to confirm proper operation and verify that the leak had been fully resolved. All work was completed in a clean, professional manner.
Symmons washer valve would not shutoff on arrival. I removed old valve and replaced it with two hot and cold washer valves. I soldered them in and added to couplings to bring it to the correct height. Both holding with no leaks present at time of service.
Arrived on site to replace seized circulator pump. After our initial inspection, we were able to get hot water moving through the zone by purging the air out using the fill valve. After air was removed the zone we tested the old pump. It was still seized which told us the pump needed to be replaced. We tested the amperage as well to confirm and we were getting around 2amps. The pump is only rated for .7amps max. We removed old pump and put the new one on. Water is now circulating as it should. When we were testing the modine heater in the garage we found that the aquastat had failed and was not telling the fan to turn on. Lucas will be bringing an aquastat with him when he returns in the morning.
Installed a wireless thermostat and two zone valves to allow the upstairs bedroom to operate independently from the living room zone. Replaced the circulator serving both zones and installed new piping, shut-off valves, and a drain. Installed a new zone-valve relay board and connected the thermostats, circulator, and both zone valves. Purged air from the system and confirmed proper circulation of hot water. Tested and verified proper communication between the control board and both thermostats. Set both thermostats to 65°F. David also reported that the toe-kick heater in the master bathroom was not running. During inspection, I found no power being supplied to the unit. I tested the Romex cable feeding the heater and detected no voltage. I confirmed all breakers in the panel are on and none of them are tripped. I also tested each light switch and the GFCI outlet in the bathroom and confirmed they were functioning properly, but power was still not present on the heater circuit. I revie
Installed customer-supplied water trough to replace the existing failed unit. Preassembled outdoor trough components including float, supply line, and shutoff valve. Removed the original trough and disconnected the electrical heating element. Set the new trough in the existing location, secured it to blocking, connected the water supply, and added additional blocking to properly level and stabilize the unit. Turned water on, adjusted fill valve for correct water level, and confirmed there were no leaks in the work performed. Due to the unit being installed outdoors without a heating element, no warranty is offered on this installation because of potential freezing conditions.
For this job, we replaced the existing garbage disposal and trap assembly due to improper drainage caused by the accordion-style trap and a leak at the disposal. We installed a new disposal along with a properly fitted trap built to current standards. We also tightened the kitchen faucet, which had been loose. Once all work was completed, we thoroughly tested the system to confirm proper drainage and verified that everything was operating as it should with no leaks present.
Arrived on site to look at baseboard heat that wasn’t working. The baseboard heat is electric and advised them that they would have to call an electrician. They have a Rinnai heater downstairs, I provided them with estimates to perform an annual tune up and to replace it due to age. They approved the annual tune up. Performed annual tune-up on a Rinnai direct vent heater. Cleaned the burners, heat exchanger, igniter, flame sensor, and air filters. Inspected the safety controls, venting, and overall system operation. Bubble-tested the gas line and checked carbon monoxide levels—no leaks detected. Verified proper operation; the system is functioning correctly at this time.
Upon arrival tech removed and disposed of old rusted pressure tank, pressure switch, and tank tee. Tech proceeded to install new 85 gallon pressure tank with a 40/60 pressure switch and tank tee. Tech charged tank to 38 psi, turned pump on, flushed out air pockets, and adjusted the switch. Pressure tank is working well with no leaks present at time of install. Tech then removed service port from the neutralizer unit and drained it down. Then I added 1 cube of neutralizer media. This brought the freeboard from 26” to 18”. I then proceeded to fill the tank, ran approximately 40 gallons of water through the unit, and sent it into a regen cycle to flush air out of the unit to prevent the bed from lifting and flush the finer media and prevent the media from going into homes appliances. I then removed and disposed of RO filters and replaced them. I then individually bled the sediment, carbon, and membrane to ensure proper function. I then drain the holding tank and charged it to 6psi fro
For this job we attempted to replace the single-handle cartridge in the master bathroom by removing the existing cartridge and installing a new replacement to restore proper fixture performance. After installation, we tested the fixture and confirmed that everything was operating correctly, with consistent water pressure on both the hot and cold sides. Invoice will be emailed to the customer.
