Had a great 1st experience with Jerms plumbing from a service prospective. I like the text and email appt. confirmations. They were very accommodating with appt. time. Tracey was detailed and communicative. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I'm not a fan of the $59 "Dispatch Fee". I understand charging a visit fee if no work is completed but don't agree with adding visit fee on top of $350+ worth of work. Also thought $350+ was a little pricey for re-setting a toilet & changing flange - wasn't quite an hour worth of work.

I had a couple of small projects done on one day. They did them all very well and described all of the options and pricing before letting me choose which direction to go. They were friendly and made sure to clean up any mess before they left. I appreciated being updated on the entire scheduling and arrival time via text, including a picture of the people who would be arriving at my house before hand. The whole process was very straightforward and the work was done well.

Arrived on site for a report of a mini split system not heating. Upon arrival, the system was operating but blowing room-temperature air. During testing, an FY error code (indicating low refrigerant) appeared on the indoor unit. Inspected the flare connections at both the indoor and outdoor units and found no visible signs of oil residue or leakage at those points. It was noted that the outdoor unit was recently struck by falling snow from the roof. Based on system behavior and site conditions, it is likely the impact caused damage to the outdoor coil, resulting in refrigerant loss. Steve will review options for either repairing or replacing the system. Estimates will be provided for both repair and replacement so an informed decision can be made.
Replaced gaskets on a Fernox magnetic filter due to it leaking water. Verified operation and system is working properly with no leaks at this time. Mr Lavalla said that he had water hammer when he runs the dishwasher, we noticed that the boiler doesn’t have an expansion tank on the domestic hot water, emailed estimate.
Arrived onsite to investigate water leaking from an expansion tank. The tank had multiple rust spots and was actively leaking. The expansion tank was installed in 2023 and carries a 5-year warranty. We provided an estimate for labor only and replaced the expansion tank. After replacement, system operation was verified and is working properly at this time.
Arrived on site to perform an annual tune up on a Viessmann boiler. We provided an estimate for the work which was accepted. We started by turning the gas and power supply off to the boiler. We then disconnected the gas line and removed the front plate to the heat exchanger. We inspected and cleaned the igniter electrodes, flame sensor, and the heat exchanger. We sprayed the heat exchanger with citrusurf and then rinsed with water. Once clean, we put the boiler back together and test ran it to perform a combustion analysis and to check for CO leaks. No leaks present. Next year we may want to think about replacing the rear refractory as it is starting to crack near the edges. Thank you for your business!
We installed new 80 gallon Rheem indirect water heater. Installed new Aquastat, mixing valve, and near water heater piping. Set tank temp to 140 degrees, set mixing valve to deliver 120 degree water to fixtures. Confirmed proper operation of system.
Arrived onsite to evaluate a new installation. Upon arrival, I observed multiple issues that needed to be addressed. I discussed these findings with the customers, and they approved the work to pipe the relief valve to the floor and to diagnose the blinking Taco zone valve control. I tested all thermostats and verified they are operating properly. The blinking light is the result of a communication error caused by the current system wiring. The customers also requested that the chimney opening from the old boiler vent be capped. Additional deficiencies noted include the need for a mixing valve, a backflow preventer, rotation of the main circulator, and installation of a 4-inch sediment trap on the gas line. I will prepare an estimate for the above work. At this time, the system is providing heat and domestic hot water, but it is not heating the house effectively. Installing a mixing valve for the radiant zone will allow the high-temperature zone to be increased to 180°F, which will
For this visit, we investigated the cause of no water over the weekend after the pressure tank was recently replaced by our company. After rechecking the previous work, we found no issues related to that installation and determined the loss of pressure was likely due to either a failed pressure switch that prevented the pump from activating or a low well water level. We attempted to recreate the issue by running a tub continuously for 15 minutes with no fault at the switch or loss of water. We recommended replacing the pressure switch as the first step before considering a well inspection to determine the water table. We replaced it with a new low water cutoff pressure switch and pressure gauge to restore reliable water pressure and protect the pump from damage. Power was shut off to the system, the system was drained, and the existing switch and gauge were removed; new units were installed with thread sealant and tested for proper operation with no issues at this time, with the press
Rerouted condensation line from the boiler in the entryway to the washing machine drain. Removed old pvc condensate drain and caulked all of the wall penetrations. Tested condensation pump and verified that there was no leaks, system is working properly at this time.
Arrived on site to investigate a squealing noise, verify a failed expansion tank and leaking circulator gaskets. The noise was coming from an ups battery backup alarm, advised customer of alarm and shut it off. Replaced the expansion tank and circulator gaskets. After restoring water to the system, discovered a failed automatic water fill valve. With customer approval, installed a new water fill valve with a backflow preventer. Opened the water supply, performed a leak check on the hydronic system, and verified proper operation of the heating system.
Arrived on site to inspect whistling noise coming from boiler. Upon arrival, the boiler was not making the sound that Tom had sent videos of. The inducer fan was making a squeaking sound every couple of seconds which could be turning into the sound he has been hearing. We listened to the boiler run for about an hour with no whistling occurring. We believe the inducer fan bearings are wearing out and the motor should be replaced. There isn’t much else on the boiler that is capable of making that sound other than the inducer fan. Ordered the part from a local supply house and it should be available for pickup some time on Monday. We will be in touch to schedule a time for a return visit to put the part in. Thank you for your patience!
The existing 32-gallon pressure tank had failed and was no longer operating properly. We will replace it with a new Well-X-Trol pressure tank to restore reliable water pressure and improve overall system performance. During the previous visit, we confirmed the tank had completely failed: after draining the system, the bladder pressure measured 3 PSI (should be 38 PSI), and the tank was fully waterlogged. The tank pressure was temporarily increased to 28 PSI until replacement could be completed. 2/20 — Installation Visit We returned to install the new 32-gallon Well-X-Trol pressure tank, reusing the existing tank tee and assembly. Power to the system was shut off and the system was fully drained. The tank union was disconnected and the failed tank was removed; due to being completely waterlogged, the tank was plugged for transport to prevent water leakage inside the home. The new tank was prepared by removing the pre-threaded extension and installing the existing tee union. Silicone lu
Arrived on site to locate and identify the existing heat piping in the upstairs floor and develop a plan to route new supply and return lines. The proposed routing will bring the supply and return piping from the second-floor closet down through the first-floor closet directly below. Connections will be made within the floor cavity of the upstairs closet, and the piping will continue down into an open bay accessible from the basement storage room, where it will tie into the boiler supply and return. The new supply and return runs will be integrated using the existing zone valves, zone valve control board, and thermostats to maintain proper system operation and control.
Arrived onsite to investigate water leaking from an IBC boiler. The customer pointed out that the leak was coming from a Fernox magnetic filter. We contacted the supply house and confirmed that the seal kit will be covered under warranty. I provided an estimate for labor only and they accepted. The parts are expected to arrive next week, and we will call to schedule the repair once they are in.
Upon arrival, we responded to a reported leak and conducted a thorough inspection of the surrounding bathroom fixtures, confirming that no fixtures in the area were actively leaking. During further investigation, we observed that the water softener discharge line was routed into a pit, where water was present on the floor and the surrounding area was wet. The homeowner advised that the water softener had not been in use until recently, which coincided with the appearance of the moisture. To stop the issue and prevent further discharge, the water softener was unplugged and placed into bypass mode. After completing these steps, the area was monitored and no additional water discharge was observed. The customer was satisfied with the results and agreed that the water softener was the likely source of the problem.
