Had a great 1st experience with Jerms plumbing from a service prospective. I like the text and email appt. confirmations. They were very accommodating with appt. time. Tracey was detailed and communicative. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I'm not a fan of the $59 "Dispatch Fee". I understand charging a visit fee if no work is completed but don't agree with adding visit fee on top of $350+ worth of work. Also thought $350+ was a little pricey for re-setting a toilet & changing flange - wasn't quite an hour worth of work.

I had a couple of small projects done on one day. They did them all very well and described all of the options and pricing before letting me choose which direction to go. They were friendly and made sure to clean up any mess before they left. I appreciated being updated on the entire scheduling and arrival time via text, including a picture of the people who would be arriving at my house before hand. The whole process was very straightforward and the work was done well.

Installed four Aprilaire Wi-Fi thermostats and verified proper operation. All systems are working correctly at this time. The thermostats will need to be synchronized with the homeowner’s phone using the Aprilaire app. No one was home at the time of installation; the homeowner stated they would reach out to schedule a follow-up appointment if needed. I recommend performing an annual tune-up, replacing a leaking Hy-Vent on the boiler, and replacing the zone control board on one of the air handlers due to its age. I will provide estimates by Wednesday next week. We also noticed an active roof leak while we were in the attic..
For this job, we came out to inspect a reported blockage affecting the laundry area. Upon arrival, the customer demonstrated the issue by flushing a toilet, which caused water to back up into the laundry sink. This confirmed that the blockage was located further down the line, likely in the main drain. We explained our findings to the customer and recommended that Beards Sewer and Drain be contacted to properly inspect and clean the main drain, as we are not equipped to service main line blockages. The customer stated that she will contact Beards to resolve the issue. Customer would Also like a heat tech to look at radiator that is leaking.
Service was performed in response to the homeowner reporting that the sewage tank alarm was actively sounding. Upon arrival, the sewage system was inspected and it was determined that the pump’s float switch, which controls the pump’s on and off operation, had failed. The homeowner advised that the existing pump was over 20 years old. Due to the age of the equipment and the failed float, it was recommended and approved to replace both the sewage pump and float assembly to ensure reliable system operation. The existing sewage pump and float were removed, and a new pump and float assembly were installed. The sewage tank was properly resealed after installation. The system was then tested to confirm correct pump operation under normal conditions. Additional testing was performed by temporarily turning the pump off while running water to simulate a failure condition, verifying that the alarm system continued to operate as designed. All components responded properly during testing.
Arrived on site to replace 2nd failed damper. We removed the old damper and replaced with the new one. Wired it up and tested operation. Both dampers are working properly. Matt mentioned that after replacing the first damper, the main floor was still not keeping up. We looked into the wiring and configuration of the dual fuel system. We found that when the furnace ran 2nd stage heating it would hit the high limit rather quickly and cause an E5 error code to show up on the control board. Changed dip switch settings to allow only the Honeywell board to control heat stages. We also changed the discharge air temp limit to 130 from 145. The high limit trips at 150 which we believe was a cause of the furnace not keeping up especially at night. Propane should now kick on when it’s 40 degrees out. We asked Matt to monitor how the furnace performs after these changes. If it’s still not keeping up we may need to dig deeper into it. Thank you for your patience!
The homeowner reported issues with the toilets continuously filling and odors occurring in the master bathroom during the mornings. Upon evaluation, the toilets were found to no longer be overfilling after homeowner adjustments; however, one toilet fill valve was noted to be filling very slowly, and replacement was recommended, which the homeowner elected to complete himself. We also investigated the reported odor concerns and ruled out dry traps, visible leaks, subfloor damage, and loose or unglued piping in the basement and crawlspace. It was explained that the odor could still be related to a toilet wax ring that may need to be reset, which the homeowner plans to address independently. A smoke test of the drainage system was discussed as an additional diagnostic option, but the homeowner declined this service at this time.
Arrived on site to diagnose no heat. From the notes, the property management already diagnosed a bad thermostat. Confirmed that thermostat had failed. When buttons were pressed the thermostat would shut off randomly. Provided an estimate to replace which was accepted. We then jumped out the zone to verify it was not the control board acting up. Boiler fired up as expected. We found that the board was replaced recently since we saw the old board on the floor. We found that zone 6 was set up for priority which was causing the other zones to not heat up until zone 6 was satisfied. This boiler services multiple units so there is no reason priority should be on. We believe that when the control board was replaced the installer forgot to turn the priority switch off. We then replaced the thermostat and tested operation. The thermostat now properly calls for heat and the control board properly tells the circulator to start moving water. Thank you for your business!
The homeowners reported a leaking pipe in the basement. Upon evaluation, we determined that the check valve on the well expansion tank had a hairline crack, which was identified as the source of the leak, along with corrosion on the adjacent piping. We removed the damaged and corroded section of pipe, replaced the check valve, and installed new piping to restore a leak-free connection. The system was inspected after completion to confirm the repair was successful and no further leaks were present at the time of service.
For this job, we shut off the water supply at the curb stop to safely isolate the system and perform the repair. We removed the damaged section of copper piping and replaced it with new, properly sized copper pipe. Due to the age and condition of the existing shut-off valve, which was no longer operable, we installed a new 3/4” shut-off valve to ensure reliable control of the water supply. All new piping and fittings were installed in accordance with current plumbing standards. Upon completion, the water supply was restored, the system was fully pressurized, and all connections were thoroughly tested to confirm proper operation and verify there were no leaks.
At the homeowner’s request, we installed a new dishwasher supplied by the customer. During our initial evaluation, we informed the homeowner that the existing copper water line behind the cabinets was green and corroded and strongly recommended replacement; approval was given to proceed with the necessary work. We safely disconnected and removed the existing dishwasher along with the old water supply line, then installed a new flexible water supply line, completed all drainage and electrical connections, and properly set, leveled, and secured the new unit. The dishwasher was tested through a full cycle to verify proper operation, drainage, and water supply, with no leaks observed and all systems functioning as intended at the time of completion.
The home lacked adequate protection against sediment and debris entering the water system, which can negatively impact water quality and damage plumbing fixtures and equipment. We recommended and installed a new spin-down sediment filter to improve water quality and provide long-term system protection. To allow for proper installation, the water system was shut down and fully drained, and the pressure tank was relocated approximately 3 feet to the right due to limited clearance at the original location. The pressure tank was reconnected to the incoming well water supply and securely mounted to the wall. New piping was installed from the pressure tank up the wall into a three-valve bypass for the filter, then reconnected to the existing main water supply serving the home. All piping was properly supported with new hangers, leveled, and secured. A hose adapter was installed at the bottom of the spin-down filter to allow for easy cleaning and maintenance. We also found the pressure switc
For this job, the kitchen sink was reconnected by installing the customer-supplied faucet, which was properly mounted, sealed, and connected to the existing water supply lines to ensure reliable operation. The garbage disposal was reconnected, and the drain and waste piping were carefully assembled to ensure correct alignment and proper drainage. All connections were thoroughly checked for secure fitment, and the system was tested for leaks and proper operation upon completion. All work was completed in accordance with current plumbing standards to ensure safe, dependable use.
Replaced st-5 expansion tank with a st-12 due to it being undersized. Set air pressure to 45 psi to match incoming water pressure. Verified operation and system is working properly at this time.
Fastened the existing Moen kitchen faucet to the counter and zip tied the supply lines out of the way to the pull down weight wouldn’t get caught on them. Also removed the Toto toilet seat and installed homeowner supplied Toto washlet bidet toilet seat
Upon evaluation of the system, wiring for the master bedroom and upstairs heating loops was found to be incorrectly connected at the basement controls. The wiring was reorganized and properly terminated in the correct locations. Once corrected, all heating zones responded appropriately and began heating as designed. The system was monitored in operation for approximately 20 minutes to ensure proper circulation and reliable performance.
