Today the mini-split system that serves the Paster’s office was diagnosed with a low charge. This equipment also recognized this condition and was flashing a low charge error code upon arrival. The system was reset and cycled into both heating and cooling modes without issue. All fans are operating as well as the compressor. A brief leak search was performed and a leak was located at the flare connections with refrigerant oil on the high side flare connection. The Paster’s office is also served by the main supply trunk for the furnace that serves the other offices. The damper was located and opened to supply heat to the office. I explained the repair procedure for this deficiency including the time and materials needed and offered to schedule the repair. At this time they will be contacting the original installer first as this mini-split system is just at one year old.
