I completed diagnostics and found the system not responding to tstat on arrival. I found door switch 120v connector burnt/ failed. I replaced connection, if similar issue occurs again the door switch will need to be replaced. The system now fully operational in heating and cooling.

I completed the diagnostics and found the trap for the condensate drain was clogged. I replace the portions of the drain ( including the trap ). I cut open the flat section of drain and cleared with CO2 gun. I explained if this issue happens again they will need to purchase a condensate pump per current drain is a French drain. The system properly drain and cooling on departure.

I completed diagnostics and fund the ac condenser fan motor not operational during call. The system has a turbo cap, unsure when it was installed. The customer did not want to replace the cap. I explained putting the fan motor on the 4mfd is not with in manufacturing specifications even if fan is running. I moved the fan wire to the 4mfd side per customer request. The system is cooling at this time.

I arrived to perform a diagnostic on an air conditioner. Upon inspection, I found thermostat off. Homeowner had complaint that blower stopped about a week ago. He replaced both blower and dual capacitors on system and it was then functioning fine. After 24 hours blower stopped again. Checked blower wheel - clean and clear. Bearings are gritty and make noise by spinning free handed.Checked blower capacitor rated for 5 mfds., actual reading 4.88 mfds. Within spec Checked blower amps - 6.88 amps within spec but very noisy and paddling water. Can see where the oil from the sealed bearings from back side motor. Quoted repair. Advised to leave furnace off, homeowner turned the breaker off to furnace Based on age (24 years old), lack of efficiency, cost of seen and future unseen repairs I recommend replacement of furnace.

I completed diagnostics and found the dual capacitor not within spec. I quoted repair and recommended a hard start kit with the new capacitor. Looking at past history we recently replaced capacitor. The compressor is lacking in efficiency and taking out capacitors, as it is about to fail. I recommended replacement vs repair but homeowner wants to go with dual capacitor and hard start relay at this time. I had to fill out a home warranty application and wait for approval of repairs (Choice Home Warranty). The customer authorized repair and I performed. The system was fully operational when leaving.

I completed diagnostics and found the fan only operation from the thermostat. The homeowner had the complaint that when they returned from vacation everything was operational but not cooling home to desired temperature. I removed evaporator coil door and the coil is no longer frozen and is completely thawed. I checked the filter and it is wet and was pulled into blower housing. I removed and checked blower wheel - dusty but clear. I checked blower motor capacitor and not within spec. I recommend replacement and quoted repair. They are holding off on repair. I removed fan on condenser to find the bearings are failing. Holding off on repair. The ysystem is estimated 3 pounds low on 410a refrigerant. I quoted top off and is was authorized and performed. The system was fully operational when leaving.

I removed the old motor and tried assembling the new motor and unfortunately the blower wheel hub is too far damaged and will not go on new motor and the housing that was taken off the handler in shop is too wide for this handler and will not fit, The blower housing and wheel should be arriving on Friday and we will return to complete repairs then.
