Replacing heat pump system in 24 hours is definitely not a small task. But Stan made sure that it was done professionaly. I found Stan through a Nest thermostat tech support specialist who was looking for a technician to fix my setup so I could have heat again. Stan arrived when he said he would, texting and calling ahead. He seemed very knowledgeable about HVAC systems in general, but specifically knew about smart programmable thermostats like Nest, which is not a skill that all HVAC pros have, not by a long shot. He diagnosed the problem within minutes. He spoke w/Nest agent on the phone to explain things and answer questions, and he filled out a detailed invoice as required by the company for reimbursing costs. Great service.

During terrible cold wave noticed that heat was not cycling on at regular intervals. It would heat up the house then go off for up to 10 hours before going back on. In the height of a heat wave, Modern Air responded quickly to my needs. My air conditioning unit ceased blowing cold air. The modern air team was able to diagnose and correct the issue. Returned to a customer’s home in Philadelphia, PA 19119 to perform two tasks recommended during a previous maintenance visit. The first was replacing a leaking gas line with a flexible line, which was identified as urgent to ensure safe operation. The second was a cleaning of the combi unit using vinegar to remove buildup and maintain efficiency. Both tasks were completed successfully, with the gas line secured, the combi unit clean, and the system operating safely and efficiently. Responded to a long-time customer’s request to check an outside drain clog at her father’s home in Philadelphia, PA 19126, that had been slowing the kitchen sink for the last couple of days. Another company had partially opened the line but suspected the pipe might need replacement, so we performed a full inspection and cleaned the pipe thoroughly using a power snake. Everything drained properly after clearing the blockage, and the system is flowing well again with no signs of backup.
Responded to an urgent no-heat call for a renter in Philadelphia, PA 19142, whose gas furnace stopped heating two days ago. The igniter wasn’t glowing, and the home had dropped to unsafe temperatures, so we started with a full diagnostic on the basement furnace. We replaced the faulty thermostat, restored proper control communication, and verified system operation. During testing, we found that the furnace was overheating and short-cycling due to ductwork that doesn’t match the system’s airflow requirements—a major factor behind the shutdown. After completing the thermostat replacement and confirming safe operation, we reviewed corrective ductwork options to prevent future overheating and keep his family warm for the rest of the heating season.
