Lifesaver

Clay came out on short notice and worked tirelessly to figure out what was going on with our system. He wasn't going to give up until he figured out what the problem was. He was able to solve our problem and get our heat up and running again. Thanks again and I’ll be sure to call again with any HVAC issues I may have in the future.

Customer reported issues with power intermittently going off and on last night. After inspecting the outdoor meter and disconnect, I found evidence of water getting into meter and disconnect. It appears the sealant I previously installed was not keeping water out. I added a large amount of sealant to ensure this issue would not continue. At this time, I’m unable to determine if the water was the actual reason why she was having power issues. Normally, these issues are with loose connections or faulty wires. I checked all connections on our end and ensured all connections are secure. I informed customer if the issue continues, she needs to get DPL to physically come out and check their transformer connections.

When I arrived, the house only had partial power. After troubleshooting, I found there to be a faulty electrical breaker in the outside disconnect. I also found all connections in meter and disconnect were showing signs of corrosion due to water getting inside of all outdoor electrical service equipment. I was able to restore power to home after removing 100 Amp disconnect breaker, cleaning the blade connections in disconnect, and relocating breaker to a different buss bar. Informed customer this is a temporary solution. Due to the amount of corrosion, the issue could return unless a permanent solution is done. Customer agreed to temporarily fix the issue today, with plans to replace all outdoor electrical service equipment in the near future in order to permanently fix the issue. I will be creating an estimate for this work.
