Did not even attempt to see if the problem could be fixed. just suggested replacement of water heater.

Sorry to hear you weren't happy with our service, and price. We only charged our service fee, which you agreed upon prior to our arrival. This price is pre-established to be able to send out techs to do an inspection of the unit, diagnose said issue, inspect the unit for any other problems that caused the original symptom, and having a fully stocked van to be able to replace/fix most parts if and when needed. We inspected the heater, diagnosed the source, and fixed the issue (which turned out to just be that the pilot light was out) and showed you how to fix it if and/or when the issue occurs again. We then gave the suggestion to contact the manufacturer if any future issues persist, when we saw the water heater was under warranty, to save you money in the future for repair or replacement needs with the heater, if needed.
