Commercial plumbing repair. Frozen water line to the cold side of the lav burst through the wall. I had to remove the entire vanity top and backsplash, disconnect all plumbing to the sink, and pull out. I then had to bust out the block wall 6’ up from the floor to find the burst line. I cut out the bad section of pipe and replaced 6” sections with 2 propress couplings. I had to remove the mirror from the wall to access the copper water line for repair. After the repairs, I tested both hot and cold lines, and they held pressure. I then reinstalled the vanity top and backsplash, connected all plumbing, and tested. I then siliconed a piece of Vat wall covering over the hole I made until a new mirror is installed. Everything is cleaned up, tested, and working as it should.
Installed customer supplied flexible sump line outside.
Water heater repair. A 3-year-old water heater is making a popping noise due to sediment at the bottom. It’s impossible to drain because duct work is right up against the drain. Recommend doing nothing; when replacement is necessary, ensure the drain is accessible on the new unit. Please schedule a quote to excavate and replace the pipe to the septic tank.
Boiler service. Performed a complete flush of the steam system and replaced the sight glass. Will set up a maintenance plan in the spring.
Install a new exhaust fan for the basement bathroom.
Installed furnace in attic, had to remove coil. Need to check A/C charge in spring. Need to locate gasket for kitchen faucet.
Run new water service. It is approximately 36’ from b box foundation of home. Service is approximately 5 to 6’ deep.
Sewer and drain cleaning. She said it looks like a giant hockey puck. Referenced by Pete / City of Joliet
Water heater service. Leaking pipes and an expansion tank. Replaced tank, air separator, 1-1/4” black pipe, fill valve/anti-backflow, and 1/2” copper pipe. The system was bled thoroughly. Hot water is coming out of all three return valves. The system is heating properly at this time.
Kitchen plumbing repair. Replaced basket strainers and tailpieces.
The furnace and possibly the board are bad.
Water heater repair. Installed customer supplied thermocouple.
