I completed a diagnostic on a Goodman A/C. I inspected the unit and found breaker blown and capacitor failed. I replaced the capacitor. The system is now cooling, but advised customer that it is close to end of life as it is over 20 years old.
Online Estimate Five Star 16 SEER, 2.5 Ton Air Conditioner & Five Star 96% 60k BTU Up-Flow Gas Furnace, 3 Ton Blower. Next step would be to schedule an apt for a technician to come to service location and grab job specs
Upon arrival I completed the Tune-Up and Safety Check. I visually inspected the unit. I checked the voltage, amps and pressures. I completed combustion analysis. I cycled and monitored the system. The system is operating normally at this time.
Preformed routine maintenance on Air Conditioner unit. System is working at manufactured specs. No issues found while working on tune up. System is working at departure.
I replaced Clients Goodman Gas Furnace with a Five Star 80% 80k BTU Up-Flow Gas Furnace. System operating normally at departure.
Upon arrival to customers home I replaced a gas valve. System was operational at the time of departure.
The customer stated the furnace was flashing a code and it wasn't working. I arrived to see nothing of a flashing code so i went to test it to end up with the furnace having 3 codes flashing and 14 ignition lockout. Restarted furnace and watched the start up process. gas valve doesn't open when getting the signal to open.
I completed a full install on a Five Star 3 ton electric furnace and a Five Star 14 SEER 3 ton heat pump. I cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time.
I completed a diagnostic. I found the thermostat is bad as well as the circuit board on the air handler. I spoke to the customer and system replacement. Customer chose new install.
Upon arrival I checked the amps to heat strips. I was getting power to heat heat strips. The blower is working. I checked the thermostat. The thermostat was switching back and forth between auxiliary heat & emergency heat. I replaced the batteries in tstat. Same thing was happening. I pulled stat and jumped R & W. Furnace came on but no heat. I found t-stat bad also circuit board on air handler has low voltage going in but it isn't sending low voltage out, I spoke to customer about system replacement and he is all set for tomorrow install.
