Client requested an estimate to replace a Heil electric furnace and Comfortmaker heat pump. I recommend replacing it with a Five Star Multi-Speed 2 Ton Electric Furnace and a Five Star 14 SEER 2 Ton Heat Pump. New install now scheduled for July.
I completed a diagnostic on a Lennox gas furnace. I inspected the unit and found that there had been pet damage that degraded the condenser coil. I checked the pressure and found the unit is low on refrigerant. I recommend that due to the age, condition and cost of repairs (seen and unseen) that the unit be replaced.
Upon arrival I completed diagnostics and found the fan motor outside had stopped running. I replaced the fan motor and went to check the DT and found it at around 13 degrees indicating the system had an issue. The supply plenum has a lot of takeoffs taped closed preventing proper airflow. Coil is rigged in position and is a slant coil. Found furnace running with no filter. Found the evaporator coil pouring water onto the floor from the left side of the furnace as well. I was told that the customer would take care of the water issue as they were in water and fire disaster cleanup as a profession. Also found the flue pipe from the furnace changing sizes twice and venting into the basement which is dangerous and could be deadly. System has partial cooling at this time but will freeze up eventually. DO NOT RUN THIS FURNACE WITHOUT IT BEING PROPERLY VENTED TO LOCAL CODE
Upon arrival I completed diagnostics and found water blowing off coil, changed fan speed, water now seems to be running up coil. The system operational upon departure.
On arrival found system operational. Customer stated that system did not run for 4 hours. I found the dirty and replaced. Inducer motor making slight noise. Recommended replacement(customer declined at this time).Heard condensate in inducer motor. Removed condensate trap and found trap and drain line were plugged. Cleared obstruction. Let system run for 30 mins and system never shut off. No other issues found. The system operational on departure.
I arrived to run a diagnostic on a gas furnace, but the customer has a radiant boiler. We do not service radiant boilers.
Upon arrival I gave the customer an Estimate on a Five Star 80% 60k BTU Down-Flow Gas Furnace, 3 Ton Blower.

Upon arrival I found the furnace not showing any codes. I ran the unit in test mode and no issues or previous codes were found. I pulled and cleaned flame sensor. Upon arrival I found outdoor unit nearly void on refrigerant, system has leak somewhere, quoting cost of repair as well as sending quote for new unit for customer to make decision, they will let us know which route they will like to take, also found indoor unit only running one heat strip, still putting out enough heat to keep home warm in the mean time. System running in emergency heat upon departure.
I completed a Furnace Tune-Up and Safety Check on a Bryant furnace. I visually inspected the unit. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. Completed combustion analysis. Cycled and monitored system. Operating normally at this time.
