After removing the Trane gas furnace and air conditioner, I installed a Five Star 96% 2 Stage Variable Speed 80,000 BTU Gas Furnace 5T 21" and a Five Star 16 SEER 2 Ton Air Conditioner. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time
I went out for a diagnostic call and determined that the compressor went out and I offered a free estimate for replacing the system due to age and condition of the unit. Customer agreed and we have them scheduled for installation the following day
I completed scheduled maintenance spring tune up on a Carrier heat pump. I visually inspected the furnace. I inspected the evaporator coil. I checked the temperature difference across the coil. Checked voltage and amps. Inspected heat pump. Checked refrigerant charge, voltages and amps. I rinsed the condenser coils with water. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time.
I removed a Trane Furnace and Air Conditioner. I installed a Five Star Multi-Speed 2 Ton Electric Furnace / Fan and a Five Star 14 SEER 2 Ton Heat Pump. Cycled and monitored the system.
Performed a tune-up and safety check-up for a AC unit. Client stated no issues. We found a weakened blower capacitor, right at 7.5 actual reading was 6.5. Client also found a weakened condenser capacitor for the fan which read 2.7 however the ratings were faded on the fuel capacitor. AC system seem to be slightly low on r22 refrigerant, Client opted not to get anything replaced at this time because he plans on replacing both furnace and AC unit in the near future. After cleaning the outside coil Delta tea went from a 15 to an 18. System is operating and cooling the house.
Went for a callback service for a 2022 gas furnace. Upon arrival, the customer says he noticed cracks in the furnace lights and the ignition just seems very rough. On first look at this furnace I noticed cracks in the collector box that the inducer mounts on, customer has attempted to seal one of these cracks with some JB Weld but it appears like it’s still open, and other cracks are starting to form.
I performed a gas furnace tune up. Client had an issue with the furnace shutting off and turning back on. Upon further investigation technician found furnace reaching high temp limit. I pulled out the filter and the unit ran for 10 minutes with no problem and met thermostat demand. I recommended customer to get a different filter. Ductwork in a house could also have an issue with airflow.
Misdiagnosed issue prior, while I was out I blocked pressure switch port and system is functioning properly.
