Tried to fix a really strange problem with AC. Worked for a while and the quit again.
Even though it was 9:00 PM Alex arrived with a smile on his face. He is all about satisfying the customer. He checked out everything then went through his mental check list and came up with the problem. Alex has been coming to our home for our semi-annual checks for the past two years. He does a great job.
Service was very professional and thorough. Alex arrived on time, looked at all aspects of our air conditioner, made recommendations and set up a follow up appointment to check out heater later in the year. We definitely will continue to use SouthCoast Heat & AC.
We needed a specialized AC unit and urgently. SouthCoast got it and brought it to us. No one else was able to do that and we tried several companies. They did their homework! Great help.
Small business owners supporting other small business owners. They follow up and keep to a schedule. Much appreciated.
Called on Sunday afternoon, Matthew was there before 800 am on Monday morning as promised.
Again, great. Having an AC issue is not on the top of anyones list, but, he arrived on time and took care of the issue and said he wanted to follow up to make sure everything was working.
Warranty: refrigerant was undercharged on the system. TXV is fluctuating, seems to be hunting. System is achieving a 16 degree temperature split at this time. Will follow up in a week to check charge and contact technical support to troubleshoot the issue.
Updated customer on not qualifying for credit.
Warranty: refrigerant charge was low by about ~1 lb. R410A. Since the unit was installed in Oct 2019, could be a possible refrigerant charge issue from install. Will return in 1 month to check the charge and perform leak search of necessary.
Installation: came out to install new condenser fan motor along with adding a pound of refrigerant. System is much quieter and running more smoothly.
AC Repair: ductboard supply plenum had been disconnected and separated from main trunk line. Recommend repairing the disconnected ductwork to improve airflow, and prevent moisture production in the attic space. Duct board has been resealed and supported to prevent further separation and airflow to office is increased. Recommend replacing office grills with adjustable vents to give further airflow to the lobby.
Called and left a vm with customer.
Customer wants a diagnostic, I went over what our diagnostic does for them, she will discuss with her husband and hopefully call back to schedule a job.
Warranty: customer was concerned about unit not cooling properly. After looking into issues discover that the meter device was causing pressures to fluctuate. Sensing bulb possibly lost charge, tried insulating bulb better and it did not make much of a change. Coil is under warranty and will get customer back on the schedule to get the txv changed out. Came back out to install new txv. Pressures are much better currently with a 14 degree split
Home Warranty: upstairs unit was not cooling properly. Looked into issue and had a normal liquid pressure and low suction pressure. Meter device is a txv and was starting to freeze at the distribution tubes to to evap coil indicating there is a restriction. Added a small amount of refrigerant to see how much effect it would have and it still was functioning as it should. Recommend changing out metering device. Other issues may be present as well. Currently in process of contacting home warranty to review claim.
Home warranty: customer call in due to areas in house not cooling properly. Apon inspection noticed that the subcool and superheat were both high indicating a possible restriction in the metering device or coils. Took a temperature reading across the filter drier and was not showing any difference in temp indicating no restriction. Did get a 16.4 split indoors indicating efficient air flow. There is limited return space that may not be pulling enough of the heat out of rooms that are not as cool. Home warranty is going to review issues.
Ac repair: came out to replace control board and bad transformer. Also installed a surge protector at the furnace. System is now up and running properly at this time.
Maintenance: came out to inspect systems and clean. Down stair system was functioning properly. Indoor unit motor and electrical components were in range. Blew out drain line and brushed off coil. Outdoor unit fan and compressor were in range as well. Pressures were stable for the unit was producing 14.6 split. Upstairs unit service valve needs to be replaced due to schredar core issue. Customer agreed to have work preformed and will get them back on the schedule.
AC Repair: go nd primary drain line clogged and dripping into the secondary drain pan. Recommend clearing primary drain line and verifying proper drainage. Inline float switch sits above the water level. Recommend adding float switch into secondary drain pan.
Ac repair: unit was not running on arrival. After looking over system notice thermostat was bad and had blown fuse. Checked control wire to verify noting was shorted and got it was not. Replaced thermostat and got system running with a 15.4 split.
Customer only wanted a ballpark over the phone and was not interested in having us out.
