Tried to fix a really strange problem with AC. Worked for a while and the quit again.
SouthCoast Heat and Air was very prompt in getting us a new air conditioner. They diagnosed the problem and gave up options on what to do,
Adjusted head on bracket reinsulated refrigerant lines cleaned up head and wall
Did static pressure test static pressure as 10 coil was at 36° when I arrive I put blower into high speed my coil temp up to 40°
Variable speed motor is not working correctly, motor is under warranty. Customer wanted to renew maintenance
Pump down system removed old TXV , replace TXV did pressure test and full vacuum previous TXV had my call at 33°, new TXV has my coil at 40 to 43°
Capacitor has failed and of out of range causing compressor not to run.
Condenser coil are extremely dirty, cleaned coil
Check blower motor on air handler check the electrical connections checked all duct work check primary and secondary drain took temperature differential right at 20° split check freon Freon is good at this time system operating normally
Performed diagnostic and it it determined that the system has restrictions in system.
Unit had shorted during the recent storm events. replaced contactor, capacitor & fuse. System running and cooling well. Under warranty.
Found zone board not recognizing the other two zones found two zone dampers no good homeowner wants to remove zone controls and dampers he will call in the fall it's a four zone damper control and six dampers 8 and 9 in we will give him an estimate when he calls
Coil has lots of organic growth on it which caused the unit to ice up, recommended stationary coil cleaning to break up debris. Made customer aware next step would be to pull the coil and clean if the stationary cleaning is unsuccessful.
Found algae and drain pan removed found coil dirty needs to be pulled and cleaned
Customer would like to discuss how or what kit he needs to convert his furnace from natural gas to propane.
