Called customer and asked him to check his condensate pump. He said he unplugged it yesterday to vacuum and forgot to plug back in. Told him how to reset the system. Per customer, unit is back up and running, will call us if he needs service.

The reason the bulb was burning out was because the wire that comes off the Uv ballast was crimped in several places. I had run a dedicated transformer without thinking to replace the ballast, but the light was dim and as I was going to replace the ballast the transformer I put in overheated and popped. I removed it ran new ballast and wire and connected them to r and c out of the board. The difference in the light was extremely evident. Unit operating normal.

The unit was turning off on high pressure in heating mode. I removed 8 oz of refrigerant but then the cooling seemed to be off. I added it back and cooling got better but then it tripped on high pressure again. I called Amana tech support and reconfigured the blower dip switches. The unit was set several 100 cfm too low. After this I still struggled getting the charge just right until I screwed the txv valve for cooling in clockwise several turns to get 7 degrees Superheat. Then I checked subcooling and had 8 degrees which is what the target is. The unit in heating modes operating above pressure table but the ambient air temperature and indoor temp are above table ratings. However it is not cutting off on high pressure. Unit operating normal in both modes with normal air flow and refrigerant charge confirmed proper.

There were 2 issues with the equipment. The outdoor unit was flashing multiple low pressure trip fault codes on the comfort alert. Refrigerant oil was all inside the suction line insulation. I sprayed the braze joint with soap bubbles and a very small leak shown. I used the leak detector to confirm. I pumped the system down and brazed both high and low joints and flushed with nitrogen and pulled into a deep vacuum. I opened the valves back up and ran the unit and added refrigerant to bring operating pressures to match data sheet and also have normal temperature rise. The second issue was that y1 and y2 were jumped out together at the air handler control board. I had heard the blower ramping up and down and it was effecting the pressures. I removed the jumper wire. I checked thermostat configuration and cycled the unit once more and also tested defrost while I was there. Unit operating normal. I took a picture of the leaking braze joint. I called the service manager to let them know
