Defrost thermostat sensor does not close when submerged in an ice water bath. The parts are under warranty so it’s best to replace the defrost thermostat sensor and the defrost control board at the same time. I completed a parts order form and a customer follow up form.
Service call on 08/12/19 On arrival set unit to call for cooling measured supply and return air temp no DT checked electrical connections checked voltage and amps checked blower motor checked all other electrical connections checked outdoor unit the unit blower is running but the compressor is not checked electrical connections checked voltage and amps the voltage absorption system was well below spec so I suggested replacing to operating the unit i gave quote for customer accepted replaced compressor capacitor tested start up and unit began operating very smoothly without any hesitating checked electrical connections checked voltage and amps measured supply and return air temp measured subcooling and superheat checked pressure and temp and they are ideal indicating zero leaks unit operating normal at this time. Collected $337 for repair $59 dispatch fee also customer sign new service agreement collected $16.66 for one month service fee total $412.66 on C.C

Performed ac pm on HeatPump system. Found filter was replaced already, new, but unit switch was in off position. Turned on and fan started running, thermostat not calling for anything. Found low voltage wiring was incorrect. Looked up installation manual for unit and corrected wiring. Returned power to system and checked ac operation. Normal delta air temps, normal refrigerant pressures and temps, normal amperages on compressor, od fan, and blower. Shut off unit and checked capacitor and contactor, in spec. Used high pressure spray to clean coils, weren’t dirty at all, new system. Returned power to unit and ran ac again. Unit operating normal at this time.
