Found 2019 Lenox air conditioner acting erratic today due to overheated refrigerant. There is a come presser issue that is causing the high pressure to fluctuate up and down about 50 psi. Eventually this causes the compressor to overheat and shut off. It is likely the compressor will need to be replaced or that the entire air conditioning system will need to be replaced.

I performed an Ac and a Furnace tuneup on a 2005 Payne system. The system is working but with a few issues. The blower motor is really dirty and show signs of overheating. The high limit switch is tripping around 129 degrees. This is a problem and is probably happening because the high limit switch is bad or there is not enough air going through the heat exchanger. I would wit to winter to do this repair. The condensation plate was full with the condensation line clogged. I cleaned the line and empty the plate, I recommend regular maintenance to avoid overflow and damage the system. For more details see the health report card. System was working okay when I left.

I responded to a no cool call today. The unit was put in a month ago by a neighbor. The neighbor told them to add a hard start kit to the system to fix the problem. Upon inspection i found that the system had a super start kit on in witch does the same thing as the hard start. I also found that the buss fuses in the disconnect had gone bad. I told the customer but she did not want to pay the price for there replacement. I recommend going back to the neighbor that did the install to hav them replace the fuses. The customer had me give her the old fuses to show the neighbor the ones she will need. ***I do not recommend doing his repair yourself as there is potential do be shocked badly with the high voltage*** ***I recommend having a professional do the repair***

Came out for a warranty on the AC leaking found the original install did not do a good job of sealing the coil so it would leak into the pan gave options to replace coil or to make a piece of metal to see if we could reroute the water I was going to charge 239 for this I told home owner could not guarantee it would work. I checked refrigerant levels and they were a little low temp split was at 11° I clean the outdoor condenser unit. The option to get a new AC was declined today. AC was working when I left but not cooling the house very good. Advise them not to run the ac due to water getting into the furnace and ruining the new furnace. Water was in the bottom of the furnace box and leaking under filter rack.

Cleaned condenser coil and removed dirt from bottom 4 inches of coil. System is working however may need to be replaced. System is almost 18 years old and showing age. Customer will pay over the phone with the office

Call no cool. Found systems blower motor overheating and amping well above recommended amperage. Blower motor is bad and needs to be replaced for appropriate operation. Blower motor replaced and system checked. Temperature Split now blower motor is running appropriately is 20 degree. Static pressure is measuring at .79 inWC manufacturer recommends this to be at .50 inWC. This is at systems best case scenario reading as well because equipment is on a zone system this static pressure is likely getting very high causing inefficient airflow problems and unnecessary wear and tear on system components. This is a characteristic of some systems if not set up appropriately and some systems with single stage equipment anything with a 2 stage or modulating stages would play a better role with a zone system than the systems current state and setup. Airflow problems present with system using a smaller rated filter like an 8-10 MERV will help but only so much because the problem is static back p

I responded to a no cool call today. Upon inspection i found that the condenser fan wasn’t turning on. This was due to the capacitor being completely dead on the fan side. I also tested the windings on the fan and they where reading high resistance at .52 .28 and .29. I made Rhett aware of what I found to day. He had me replace the capacitor and I told him the fan is on its last leg and could go out at any time. The system is 13 years old, if the fan goes out it will be $880 to replace it. At that point it may be worth getting a new system. Rhett and his wife where considering just getting a new unit today. I told them I could replace the capacitor and get them cooling today and if they decide in the next 14 days that they want a new unit we can take the price of the capacitor out of the price of the new system. AC was running when i left.

Blower motor is dead. Blower motor capacitor is really weak. Control board shows wear marks on it. I could not get the evap coil door off to inspect coil. Rest of system is running within specs. Recommend 1” filter to be replaced once a month. System is up and running when i left. System has a 21 degree temp split.

Came out for AC not working found the capacitor had failed and was not letting the fan turn on. While I was here I checked static pressure it was good temp split was in required range the pressures on the refrigerant were a little off due to the home being really hot. I clean the outdoor condenser unit the filters had upon replaced upon arrival. Compressor and motors or anything in range. AC was working good when I left to call.

I performed an Ac tune up on a 1994 Day&Night system. The system is really old and it shows. The temperature split is not good, cleaning the evaporator coil and adding some refrigerant should help. Due to the age of the system and the fact that the refrigerant type is no longer manufactured. I would consider buying a new system all together. Adding refrigerant and any other repairs might help this system limp along, but you still have problems appearing with frequency. I changed the filter. See health report card for more details.

Replaced dual run capacitor under warranty, installed hard start and cleaned condenser coil.

Air flow is a little high. Furnace is much older than the ac. The system has high static pressure. Evap coil was not sloped properly. Secondary pan is filling up with water rather than it running to the drain. System doesn’t have a wet switch or secondary pan drain. We would need to add more return to the system or upsize the current return or add an other return and add a bigger filter in the attic to get better air to the system. System only has the 2 returns to the system. Return ducts are not fully insulated. Because ducts are in attic the need to be insulated to keep air from being to hot when it gets to the evap coil. I am including the estimates for the options for fixing the air flow. I would advise to replace the furnace at the same time due to the age of the furnace. After looking more at the furnace and the shape that it is in. I don’t know how much life is left in the furnace. We can have a comfort advisor give a free estimate on new furnace if that is something you wou
