Control board has failed and is not outputting a signal to the Y terminal for compressor operation. Confirmed control board issue with Waterfurnace. Control board will be ordered and will call to schedule repair once parts are in hand.
Upon arrival, system was in the off mode with fan on. Attatched pressure and temperature guages to perform an operation test. During heat pump operation testing, found that the heap pump is operating properly and refrigerant pressures and temperatures are within spec based on third party measurequick testing application. Jodi says that there has been no refrigerant added to her knowledge. Based on the operation measurements of the refrigerant and air temperature rise, the system is within refrigerant specifications and there is no leak search that needs to be performed. Tested operation of auxiliary heat strips and found no issues. Found that the thermostat heat pump lockout was set to 35F. With an all electric system, disabling the heat pump lockout temperature is recommended as the heat pump is still producing heat at those temperatures and the system is designed to run the auxiliary heat as needed to boost heat content, aswell as run the auxiliary during defrost mode which can happe
Inspection of all electrical systems. Could not recreate issue of heating stuck on while on site. Suspect it could be a bad control board with intermittent relay sticking. Will prepare a quote for control board replacement.
Replace failed ABC control board with new oem ABC board and test run operation. No other issues found or suspected during testing.
Replace Waterfurnace HWG desuperheater coax coil. Part is covered under Waterfurnace Parts warranty. Labor and refrigerant is not. Remove and replace failed desuperheater water coil. Pressure test with nitrogen at 400psi for 10 minutes. Vacuum down to 500 microns and let sit for 30 minutes for decay test. Charge in 93oz of new R-410A. Installed new ABC board aswell and preformed test run. Refrigerant pressures are within spec. No other issues found or suspected.
Replace ECM blower motor with universal motor Converted from constant airflow to constant torque motor Blower was intermittently starting and stopping Couldn't determine if it was the board or the motor causing the issue. Switching to constant torque eliminated both possibilities
Performed heating maintenance on a 2020 Lennox 96% efficient single stage natural gas furnace 16x25x1 filter is in good shape, looks almost brand new (using the correct MERV8 rating filter, please continue to use these same filters) Blower wheel is a touch dirty, at this point it doesn't seem to be causing system performance issues. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor Condensate trap is clear Checked internal condensate lines for blockage Intake air screen free or debris Intake and exhaust pipes showing no signs of leakage at fitting glue joints Burners in good shape Run tested furnace Gas pressure set to 3.5"wc with reference to the sealed burner box Increased blower speed Temperature rise is a steady 62⁰ (spec is 35-65⁰) No signs of water leaks internal or external to the furnace 0ppm carbon monoxide present No concerns found on today's visit Furnace operating within factory specifications at this time
Furnace operational upon arrival Control board giving rapid flash of thr amber LED. Code indicates low flame proving signal Measured flame sensor current before cleaning: 0.6ųADC Pulled and cleaned flame sensor, flame signal now 2.8ųADC Furnace operating normally at this time.
Replace worn out 1/2hp blower motor with new universal blower motor. Test run operation to verify no other issues. Test run fan only, gas heating, and heat pup heating to verify all fan speeds are operational. No other issues found or suspected at this time.
ABC board failed Need replacement under parts warranty
Preventative maintenence inspection on two Climate Master Trilogy variable capacity communicating systems running in great condition. Air filters for both units are in clean condition. Performed visual inspection on all components including vut not limited to lower compressor/electrical compartment, upper blower/auxiliary heat strip compartment, and immediate connections for ground loop and hot water generation circuit. No issues are found or suspected from visual inspection. Performed a test operation of electric auxiliary heat strips to verify proper operation. All electric heat strips are operating properly and within specs for Amp draw. Performed operwtion test of systems in geothermal heating with no issues found or suspected. Performed heat of extraction on both systems. Both syste,s are operating properly and within specifications for heat of extraction based on air temperature rise, and ground loop temperature and pressure drop. Compressors tested within range with no issues su
Upon arrival, system is locked out on low pressure code. Unit fault history has a number of low pressure and fp1 sensor error codes indicating low refrigerant charge. Tested refrigerant pressure and found 0.7psi in the system. The system has had a major blowout. Perform leak search in attempt to find refrigerant leak on Waterfurnace 5 Series package system. Could not pinpoint leak but was able to isolate the leak to somewhere in the outer wall of the domestic hot water generator coil. Visible oil on and around the area hinted to the location. Infrared sniffer was picking it traces of refrigerant from the area but could not pinpoint with leak detector gel. Hot water generator coil, aka desuperheater coil, will need replaced. Called Waterfurnace for warranty status and availability. Part is covered under warranty, but labor and refrigerant are not. Prepared quote for replacement. System can currently be ran in emergency heating mode for heat.
Flow center pump has failed internally in the electrical systems. Called Waterfurnace tech support to verify control board was operating properly first. Repairs habe been approved and parts will be ordered. Office staff will call back to schedule repair when parts are in hand.
1999 janitrol 90% furnace in extremely poor shape Repairs will exceed cost of new furnace Recommend replacement of furnace and heat pump 2.5T heat pump 25' line set 2" exhaust is solid core pipe
Newer filter installed backwards has flattened out and is causing a major air flow blockage. Intialctest run in heating stage 2 showed discharge pressures at 500psi. Installed new air filter and test ran in second stage. Current operation discharge pressures at 350psi and is within spec. Test run operation of humidifier with no issues found.
