Greg and his colleague did awesome job balancing and providing recommendations. He also uncovered an issue that was kind a hidden.

We have been a customer of Westin Air for four years now and recently had our old HVAC system replaced by Westin Air. They are the most professional HVAC company we’ve ever had with outstanding service and technical excellent. When I had a question about a new sound from our new system when turning on the furnace, Wes the owner personally came to the house to check it out (the sound was normal to the new system). What service! If you have any HVAC needs, call Westin Air.

Upon arrival, there is a wet spot below the humidifier. Inspect internal cabinet of the geothermal unit and see no water. Remove humidifier door and there is water that has been sucked off the humidifier pad. Humidifier fan speed is set to high. Change fan speed to low and perform test run to check for a continued leak. With low fan setting, water is still being sucked off of the humidifier pad due to a dirty/clogged humidifier pad. Although only approximately 5 months of humidifier operation, excessive build up is most likely due to the humidifier being set to 60% humidity, aswell as the longer and colder winter we have had this year. Other contributions could be water quality aswell as air quality. A dirty humidifier pad is not the responsibility of Westin Air as it is a regular maintenance item. Although April air recommends changing it every 12 months, the above mentioned operating condition can necessitate changing the humidifier pad earlier than the 12 months.
Upon arrival inspected system and found no concerns with heating function. Inspected electric heating element wiring and camera over the elements and saw no concerns with elements units heating properly and no weird smells coming from unit while running. Start up heat pump and verify heating from heat pump, unit started heating at 24° delta T and was not making any burning smell. Advised homeowner hvac running properly and not showing concerns at this time.
Replace 20x20x2 filters x4 Replace AX52 belt. Converted from Ax54 previously installed by Seth. Test run heat verify proper operation Clean flame sensor Inspect heat exchanger verify safe for operation.
Preventative maintenence inspection on two high efficiency gas furnaces running in good condition. Replace both air filters. Humidifier pads are in decent condition. Recommend replacing before next heating season. Clean flame sensors and checked ignitors. Visual inspection of burners. Flush condensation traps and drain lines. Run test systems in heating mode. Both systems are operating properly and within specs for temperature rise, and blower and inducer motor amp draw. Pvc flue vents in good condition and no sign of leaks. 0PPM CO detected during testing. Tested humidifier operation on both. Furnaces and humidifiers are operating properly, efficiently and ready for Winter.

Performed an operation test on the Waterfurnace Legend unit to check for any out of specification measurements. Performed a heat of extraction worksheet to measure heating BTU output and efficiency. Heat of extraction shows that the system is outputting 31,525BTU/Hr. Waterfurnace specifications list the BTU/Hr output at 30F ground water temperature to be between 27,000 and 35,000 BTU/Hr. Compressor is running at 15A and is within specifications. Blower motor is running at 3A and is within specifications. Performed an operation test on emergency/auxiliary heating strips. Both heating strips are running at the proper 20A. Shut down heat stips to verify that the heat stips are not stuck on or shorted out. 0A reading when off. During operation test of geothermal, the only abnormal reading was the ground loop pressure. Ground loop pressure is currently at 20psi dormant. Ground loop pressure should be within 60-80PSI per Waterfurnace manufacturers recommended pressures. Low ground loop press
