Excellent service

We have used Weston air on several properties and the service is always professional and mechanically well done. The price is fair. What we like is that it’s very realizable,

Outstanding Company!

We have been a customer of Westin Air for four years now and recently had our old HVAC system replaced by Westin Air. They are the most professional HVAC company we’ve ever had with outstanding service and technical excellent. When I had a question about a new sound from our new system when turning on the furnace, Wes the owner personally came to the house to check it out (the sound was normal to the new system). What service! If you have any HVAC needs, call Westin Air.

Upon arrival, system is locked out on low pressure code. Unit fault history has a number of low pressure and fp1 sensor error codes indicating low refrigerant charge. Tested refrigerant pressure and found 0.7psi in the system. The system has had a major blowout. Perform leak search in attempt to find refrigerant leak on Waterfurnace 5 Series package system. Could not pinpoint leak but was able to isolate the leak to somewhere in the outer wall of the domestic hot water generator coil. Visible oil on and around the area hinted to the location. Infrared sniffer was picking it traces of refrigerant from the area but could not pinpoint with leak detector gel. Hot water generator coil, aka desuperheater coil, will need replaced. Called Waterfurnace for warranty status and availability. Part is covered under warranty, but labor and refrigerant are not. Prepared quote for replacement. System can currently be ran in emergency heating mode for heat.

Install Totaline whole home humidifier onto hvac system. Install humidifier controller and wire into EAC terminal. Humidifier can run whenever the blower is operating. Recommend turning thermostat fan option to ON for first week or two to increase humidifier operating time to get to set humidity of 40%. Hook up water line and tie into ac coil drain line. Adjusted furnace blower speed for humidifier application. System is operating properly.

Upon arrival, unit in question was set in heating mode with no operation. Other hear was operating in cooling mode to try and cool excessively hot other room. Set other unit to off and turned head unit in cold room on. System came on and fan started to blow. Supply air was slightly warmer than return air by approximately 2F. Inspection of outdoor unit showed that vapor line was getting to 130-140F which is normal. Refrigerant coming into head is not 130-140F and is approximately 70F. Suspect that there is an insulation issue in the attic above garage but the garage attic cannot be reached currently due to needing a 10ft ladder, and there being stuff in the area the ladder will need setup. Currently have the head in question in heating mode with the other head off. Multiple issues including the other head being in cooling, very low outdoor temperature causing reduced capacity and more frequent defrost cycles, and being a bonus room above the garage can all affect the heating operation.

Preventative maintenence inspection on 2016 Waterfurnace 5 Series running in great condition. Fred's concern for high electricity bill/usage does not appear to come from the geothermal unit. Took some information on thermostat settings to review with office staff and Waterfurnace. Air filters are in clean condition. Air coil is clean. Test ran operation of first stage geo heat, second stage geo heat, aswell as auxiliary heating. Tested refrigerant pressures with aid tool. Nothing of concern was found or suspected. Blower motor and ground loop flow center pumps operating properly. No issues of high energy usage were found during inspection and no issues with the system were found or suspected. System is operating properly, efficiently and ready for Winter.

Upon arrival, system has a tripped rollout switch. Reset switch and performed test run of system. During system test, performed a combustion analysis to test integrity of the heat exchanger. Upon insertion of the combustion analyzer, the system read approximately 300ppm COAF, before immediately shutting off on CO threshold exceeded safety measure. System is not safe to operate and has been disabled to prevent operation. Due to the age of the system, 2009, replacement of the furnace is necessary.
