Excellent & timely work. Tony was professional and personable. He seemed very knowledgeable and skilled at his craft. We were extremely satisfied with the work done. Great job, thank you! That being said, the pricing was a bit high especially compared to their predecessor Cole’s Electric. Service Detectives’ new culture appears now focused on costly upsell of myriad suggested products and services as opposed to simply helping the customer with a task at hand at a reasonable and affordable price. Cole’s Electric was that dying type of no-job-too-small provider, however, as is the trend these days Service Dectectives is in hot pursuit of the large scale, high cost jobs. They will not even come to your home without a mandatory $90 inspection fee, which was fully disclosed to me by their office when I first called to schedule, but I feel is regrettable policy none the less for any of us who might have a small job we need a professional to do. I did agree to it and in fact signed up for a one year inspection Agreement, in part to offset the cost of the job at hand. We were happy with the actual inspection itself, but, were shell shocked with the prices quoted for the ‘recommended fixes’ for our 30 year old home. Our relatively small job of a range hood installation ended up costing us a couple hundred dollars more than we had hoped, which is fair enough (again we are very happy with the work done!), but the nearly $8,000 in suggested non-critical upgrades following the mandatory inspection were disappointing. We feel we’ve lost yet another neighborhood service provider to aggressive corporate style up-sell and will likely try to seek another provider for any future small job needs. Thank you for the excellent work Tony! Regrettably your company’s new business strategy is a tough (up)sell for us.
