The reason for today’s visit was to provide a solution on adding a sub-panel. Customer had a new garage installed and was inquiring about adding a sub panel with up to 90 amps of service. The home is supplied by a 200 amp service currently with a panel that was installed in 1999 next to the main for a generator set up. After viewing the panel and the home, we began assessing the garage itself. The garage itself has 2 circuits currently ran for lighting/outlets. These areas are currently roughed in and ready for devices which we provided a solution for today. At this time we discussed directional bore for the service from the main home panel to the garage. We will also update the grounding and bonding of the sub panel as well as install two eight foot ground rods. The sub panel will also house a new whole home surge protector as well as have two gfci breakers installed for current circuits.
