Arrived onsite and the resident showed me to where he smelled the burning. We pulled out the outlets and assessed any possible damage on the wire and only found that the outlet was bad, and that way too much as plugged into the power strip in that area. I went downstairs to do an assessment of the panel and found the panel to be in pretty rough shape. After a full assessment, the panel cover wont stay on without me putting new screws in it, it is extremely corroded and rusted out inside, and more importantly the main feeder from the power company, had the stranded wires cut down to 2-4 strands out of the whole bundle, per conductor coming down landing on the lugs. As i looked around the basement i found an old twist fuse subpanel that can be remove and condensed to one junction, and a bunch of open wiring and open air splices as well.
