Lightem up electric - Eric Messner

Eric is very personable and competent. Initially we asked him to come to install a whole house surge protector. Electrical inspection showed several defects . He came back and started around 9.30 AM and finished by 10 PM on the same day. Did change out of whole main panel, 4 surge protectors for house and 3 AC units , addition of second grounding rod and other smaller electrical jobs costing over $4000. Eric knew what the Cobb County inspector would normally want and I am very satisfied with his work I would call him back again if I have any other work to do. The company is very responsive and has a great website and good customer service. It is a family owned business and the difference is obvious compared to some of the other large national franchises. I did not get any other quotes since I felt comfortable with Eric. The cost was high but I don't know how much others would have charged but I guess electrical work is expensive. The only issue we had is with the supplies needed for the job. The person responsible for ordering missed several pieces and it wasted a lot of time going to different HD stores. Eric finally managed to get a 100 Amp breaker from a HD 25 miles away. I would recommend Eric and the company without reservations

Chris Collis is a mensch

Mike Connell is a safety rep and project coordinator for Light 'Em Up. He came with Chris Collis, the electrician who provided the services, and evaluated my project. I am fairly knowledgeable about electrical upgrades because I am a veteran renovator. Mike left after making his recommendations and Chris provided the services. Chris was here for at least seven hours. Late in the day, he was joined by a fellow employee who had finished his gig; he willingly volunteered to help Chris finish on time and to meet the necessary technical standards. Chris added two circuits and three new outlets to support my kitchen electrical upgrade. This involved taking down part of the ceiling in the family room downstairs to run the wires from the new kitchen outlets to the electrical panel. I don't have a typical basement ceiling: I used 3-inch cedar strips. I would say the difficulty level for the addition of three outlets in my 40-year old kitchen was 10 plus. I had hoped for $200 per outlet. I paid $400 per outlet. But their work is guaranteed and the time/effort expended merited the pay. I know the job was performed professionally and meets code. Priceless. My kitchen is non-functional at present and I am awaiting new counter-tops, etc. I assume the added outlets are functional but I have not checked them out. That's why I am not giving a "fiver" for quality of service--at this time.

Best Ever

Can't say enough about these guys. Mike arrived right on schedule this morning, assessed the problem and presented the options for repair. Repair was scheduled for today and everything is now back up and running - and the site is probably cleaner than it was when they got here.
