For this job we installed a new 400 amp service on the right hand side of the home. GA Power came and set a new transformer for the service. We installed a new 200 amp main panel with dual function breakers and surge protection. Smoke detectors are already present and we upgraded the grounding system with #2 copper water pipe bond. Everything functions as it should.

Upstairs System - 1995 Ruud system System not heating due to age. System has multiple issues and all original components. The heat exchanger is cracked, the inducer assembly has multiple cracks, the blower wheel is impacted with debris and the blower motor is leaking oil at the main seal. The igniter is bad and the flame rectifier is very weak. The system has no wet switch or flood protection in the drain line or secondary and the drain line has been cut multiple times to clear clogs. Abundant rust and water damage discoloration show that at some time the system was flooded or had water running through it, most likely from a clogged drain line or coil freezing. Due to the age, condition, and lack of parts available for a 30+ year old system, I recommended updating the equipment. We scheduled for an install supervisor to come out this afternoon! Tech arrived to perform one system heating tune up in home. System is approximately 5 years old and service entire home. Customer issue is concerning uneven heating in home. There is a big discrepancy between upstairs and downstairs. Inspected system. Changed out filter 16x25x1 for customer. Flushed drain line and cleaned EZ tee with clean out. Cleaned furnace cabinet, cleaned inducer port and cleaned flame sensor. Temperature rise is within specs. System does not have adequate flood protection. Brought recommendations to customer. Troubleshoot gfi at front porch. Garage outlet kept tripping when freezer plugged in. Replace all gfi’s in the garage. Replace box that was falling out in garage. Replaced gfi at the front porch as well as the cover. Retrofit 4’ fluorescent fixture in master bedroom closet. Everything tested and working properly.
Inspected gas line for stove. No leaks detected with the line.
I replaced the Prv, installed a new washing machine box with hammer arrestors, installed a dishwasher hammer arrestor, pulled and reset the upstairs jack and Jill bathroom toilet as well as replaced the flange for it. I set the new prv to 65psi and thoroughly tested my work to ensure everything is working properly

19 Year old Amana gas furnace & AC - Not Heating System not heating due to age and failed components. The system has exceeded its life expectancy and has multiple weak/worn components. The inducer draft assembly has failed and the pressure switch is stuck closed. There is an abundance of rust in the inducer motor and heat exchanger. The igniter is weak and reading below manufacture parameters and is also chalky. The flame rectifier is weak and chalky as well, both are original components. The blower wheel is dirty, the blower motor is over amping amps seeping oil at main seal in back. Due to the age, condition, and cost of temporary repairs, I recommended updating the equipment. The homeowner requested we send out an install supervisor this afternoon to go over updating the system. I set this up with dispatch. I did create 2 estimates for the system. One just to get it back up and going, and another to address all the components that are on the verge of failure. At this time all comp
Arrived at the customer’s home to find the cause of odors from both units. Customer has had multiple duct cleanings and indoor coil cleanings in the span of the two years since the home was built. The customer already has had air scrubbers installed on both systems. Discovered that both units have fresh air intake ducts with no dampers to control their intake. Reported the estimates to the customer. Picked up the material from Ed’s Supply Alpharetta and Johnstone Alpharetta. On the upstairs system, installed a brand new fresh air damper. Cleaned the evaporator coil. Sealed the duct and installed the fresh air control module. Tested operation from the board. Due to issues after the evaporator coil cleaning, the customer wanted to pause the job and have us come back a different day for the other system. Customer said Friday with an arrival window of 11-2 would work best.
