Upon arrival, customer notified me that she utilizing the toaster in the kitchen. The outlet next to the cooktop on the left sparked and appeared that it was catching on fire. The customer unplugged the toaster. The outlets on the right of the cooktop are working as intended. We are going to conduct a diagnosis to determine where power has been dropped and provide an option for the customer to safely restore power back to these locations. Customer has two outlets on the circuit that have been damaged. These outlets have burning around the terminal connection points. It appears that they were poor connections made for the devices which caused them to burn and spark. The existing devices are not safe to be tied back into the electrical system. It is my recommendation to replace these devices so the customer can continue to utilize the circuit as intended.
For this job, I came out for a leak under the sink. Went ahead and replaced the p trap. Tested and cleaned up work area
Clear kitchen sink blockage Customer was experiencing a blockage in kitchen sink on main floor. Upon arrival I tested for mainline backup and only the kitchen sink was being affected. During my diagnosis I noticed water backing up in sink. I ran k45 cable to clear blockage multiple times. After running cable, I brought back some food debris and grease. I tested kitchen and dishwasher to ensure we restored proper flow and we also tested for leaks and we’re successful.
Steam humidifier for main level system - electrical
Technician arrived on site and visually inspected that the drain line had backed up on the unit setting off the wet switch underneath the unit Technician explained to the customer that this was only a visual inspection, and that further diagnostics would be needed to see if that was the only issue with the system. The customer denied an in-depth inspection due to time constraints but wanted the technicians on site to clean the drain line while they were there. The technicians then cleaned and flushed the drain line as per the customer request. Customer also signed up on a HomeCare plan to have their system inspected on a future date. The technician explained to the customer that due to not completing a full inspection at this time that they waive TE of any responsibility of any other issues that can occur with this system.
Upon arriving homeowner stated that his back outdoor outlet was not working. Gave him a quote on running new circuit or just to tap off another one inside the home that was back to back. He decided to go with the second option. We installed a new box and outlet on the outside and inside. This outlet is gfi protected due to the outlets we tied In the basement.
Upon arrival, customer notified me that inside of their pantry they have a quad outlet that will not operate the microwave or the toaster oven. Customer stated that he will plug the microwave in try to utilize it and after a bit, it will trip the breaker. Customer also mentioned in their upstairs bathroom that the outlet in that location is also doing the same thing. Whenever we’re using a hairdryer or any type of a load that causes the circuit breaker to trip. After conducting our diagnosis, we determined that the receptacle on the left side in the pantry is overheating and has burned the terminal screw on the device. The customer is utilizing a toaster and a microwave at this location. The wiring is rated for 20 A so we will give the customer an option to have 20 amp devices install installed at this location. We will also fix the tap to ensure that all connections are made proper.
Performed diagnostic on steam humidifier in the basement and I found that the canister is slowly leaking water. I will need to order the parts and return to install them.
