Arrived at the customer house because inspector pointed gfci in back porch not tripping. GFCI outlet wouldn’t trip when we use the test funcion on multiple testers, we unmounted outlet from bell box and discovered wires were connected correctly to device, once testing continuity between ground and neutral it was non existent, meaning ground wire has failed or have been disconnected in a different location, upon further investigation we discovered that switches and outlets mounted to kitchen column look like they have been replaced recently, we decided to take apart connections there and discovered wires spliced behind boxes and all along the column, ground connections don’t have crimps or wire nuts to them. We redid wiring to all devices attached to column and made connections accessible and protected by installing junction boxes in attic above column affected, Arc fault breakers were installed due to extension of existing circuits, while doing this work we found that one of the swit
Tech arrived to problem call for entire home. Customer expressed that thermostat was extremely complicated and couldn’t operate it. Customer moved into home roughly 2 weeks ago. System was operational yet thermostat was very convoluted. Gave brief inspection on system and gave recommendations. Customer agreed to thermostat replacement. Tech replaced thermostat for single stage heat/cool. Verified operations. System is operational. Explained to customer how thermostat works and disabled scheduling. Customer understands how thermostat works and is able to operate it. Also signed up for HomeCare maintenance on one system. Thank you for letting TE CERTIFIED service your home.
Customer called us out for garbage disposal not working. Upon inspection found broken porcelain in the disposal.

Finish installing light fixtures on pillars
Testing system for upstairs level not heating. Found that the gas valve was turned off. Tested the system with CO detector and found CO coming from the vent while the system was running. I found that the system has cracks in the heat exchanger. Found this to be due to a lack of return error installed on the system. This unit requires 1000 CFM of return and currently only has 780 CFM’s.
Troubleshoot burning smell in master bedroom coming from ceiling fan
Inducer motor is rusting out and blocking pressure check port. Inducer motor is no longer available for this furnace so repair is not a viable option. Discussed replacing furnace with homeowner. They are moving to Tennessee and almost moved out. Looking to just replace furnace. Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system.
