Unthread hose from hose bib spigot and winterize.
Finish installing light fixtures on pillars
Testing system for upstairs level not heating. Found that the gas valve was turned off. Tested the system with CO detector and found CO coming from the vent while the system was running. I found that the system has cracks in the heat exchanger. Found this to be due to a lack of return error installed on the system. This unit requires 1000 CFM of return and currently only has 780 CFM’s.
Troubleshoot burning smell in master bedroom coming from ceiling fan
Inducer motor is rusting out and blocking pressure check port. Inducer motor is no longer available for this furnace so repair is not a viable option. Discussed replacing furnace with homeowner. They are moving to Tennessee and almost moved out. Looking to just replace furnace. Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system.
Inspected sprinkler system for leaks. Found 3 zone control valves leaking, causing meter to steadily spin creating high water bill Customer had tried to close the water valve to the sprinkler system but could not get it shut off completely Got the valve to shut off and meter stopped spinning, no more leaks on system Left estimates for sprinkler repairs Found PRV bad with 115 psi and water heater is 11 years old Removed and replaced PRV and main shut off inside home. Customer declined water heater replacement at this time Left estimates for heater replacement
Tech completed a service call on a single stage 2zone system. Tech noticed flood protection not up to code, zone system not compatible with single stage equipment, noticed filtration needs upgrading, blower wheel cleaning, biological growth at back of furnace supply plenum. Tech left recommendations/ estimates with home owner to better help protect and prolong life of equipment.
