Tested system not heating for the main level. Found that a failed contactor was causing the fuse to trip and system was not turning on because of this. Also tested the components and found a failed capacitor. Inspecting the system I found tons of growth from strain on the unit that was caused by a lack of return duct. This strain is also causing refrigerant pressure issues. This has also caused compressor failure. Testing it with a megohm I found it is in the caution range of failure. This system is also lacking flood protections along with a pan underneath the system. Due to the findings along with major repairs and restoration needed it may be best at looking to replace the system. Was able to get the customer up and running for today by replacing the capacitor and contactor. Informed the customer that we would credit this price towards a new system. Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system.
