-not a recall/call-back Found the system operating with in its specifications. Found the issue relate to this call is inefficient insulated hard pipe ductwork. The pre existing ducting insulation under efficient for the high efficiency system. Condensation was observed from one 12” duct on the front top left corner of the supply plenum. Other sections were subtle moist and cool to the touch. Inspected the ducting system and found throughout it should be considered for replacement duct to age, outdated R- values of the insulation. Entire duct system replacement option was discussed, but declined at this time. Addressing replacement of the single 12” duct at a later date, per customer’s request.

Cut into ceiling of hallway by the front door and investigate where the source of water damage could be coming from. Found pinhole leak on the hot line that was punctured by a nail. Removed hot and cold section out and replaced with new pex piping. Turned on the water and checked for leaks. Everything is good and working properly.

Only system not cooling. Homeowners had switched the thermostats to the off position before my arrival. At the outdoor unit I tested the compressor windings and capacitor. The run winding was reading at .46, which is very low and neither the compressor or fan would come on. I brought the homeowners out to show them my observations and powered the system back on and the compressor fired up but the contactor was sparking. At the furnace I observed that the heat exchanger has a couple cracks and the evaporator coil is rusting. Also the blower wheel is impacted with debris and restricting air flow. The homeowner requested I scheduled a install supervisor to come out after the holiday and also replace the contactor as a bandaid fix. Thank you for choosing T.E. Certified, have a great day!

Compressor is internally compromised likely due to overcharging and non-condensables in the system. Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system.

Customer called us out for toilets that wouldn’t flush and sewage coming into the basement. At customers request I did not run water before pulling the toilet. I recommended pulling the toilet and running a cable machine down to clear the blockage. I removed the toilets and it was holding water. I ran the cable machine down successfully clearing the blockage. I have a sewer supervisor scheduled to come out. Customer is also being contacted by a remediation company. I reinstalled the toilet with new wax ring, closet bolts, china caps, and supply line. I did not caulk do to a camera needing to be ran. Tested toilet and shower. Cleaned up.
