Jeff did a repair for us in past years and I appreciate his honesty, thoroughness and willingness to get the job done right the first time! We had several items to repair: an indoor/outdoor leak, and expired water heater, a leaky tub faucet and some pipe valve replacements. Jeff is knowledgeable and skilled and made me feel valued as a customer. I also appreciated that he got the job all done in one day. Thank for your dedication to great service!!

We had an emergency the day before Thanksgiving when we found a water leak in our basement ceiling. TE was quick to help and had Cory to our house in 2 hours. Cory was professional and quick to diagnose the problem and get it fixed. I had never heard of or used TE before, but their rating on Google (5-star with over 6k reviews) made them an easy choice and my first call. No one likes plumbing issues, but if it happens to you, they should be your first and only call.

Arrived to inspect one of two systems in home. Both Carrier furnace are in the attic with 14x25x1 filters. Inspected heat exchanger, gas components, electrical and filters. Noticed flue is 4" but has a 4x3 reducer off the top of furnace with 3" flue running the rest of the way out to roof termination. Both of the Carrier furnaces are set up the same way and is causing issues. Recommended replacing flue, flue cap and flashing to correct size for Carrier furnace. Performed carbon monoxide test while on site and was detecting trace amounts of co, mainly on the main level of home. Checked condenser electrical and refrigerant levels. Found leak on copper in condenser. Homeowner approved Saturday to come do repair. Ductwork is very dirty as seen on images and recommended duct cleaning. Also recommend installing adequate flood protection on both attic systems.

Arrived today to quote for a spot repair. After giving an estimate of $905 for the spot repair the customer was unhappy with this price and wanted to speak to Kurt. Once Kurt was on the phone we determined ultimately that the only work to be completed was the T&P relief line and for that we quoted $450. Upon completion the customer was still unhappy with the price of $450 so I asked what was she comfortable paying. She said $250 so that’s what I charged for the job.

The living room circuit #13 had tripped and would not reset. This circuit has a 15 amp AFCI breaker (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) (Fire Prevention) installed and is required by the National Electrical Code article 210.12. I went into the living room and used a plug tester at the entertainment stand and got a “Open Ground/Open Neutral” reading, I went to the device on the right hand side of the entertainment stand by the hallway and removed it to discover the black (Hot Wire) was broken off along with the white (Neutral Wire). These broken connections created an Arc Fault (Electricity jumping from a metal point to another) causing the breaker to trip and being unable to reset. The wires were plugged into the back of the device which is known as “Quick Wiring” or “Stab in back” this form of terminating is very poor and fast while this type of connection can lead to issues like burnt up outlets, loss of power and breakers tripping. Unfortunately, this method is legal under the Nationa
For this job, the customer showed us a leak coming from the thermal expansion tank, as well as a freeze break somewhere in the basement wall which they had turned off. After investigation we found the water pressure to the home was 100 psi causing the failure of the expansion tank. The customer opted to go with option 3 to replace the PRV, and thermal expansion tank, as well as two new shut offs for the home, and water heater. Last issue we addressed was we brought the tnp drain line up to code as a courtesy since we were working on the water heater. We performed work, tested everything, and cleaned up. Thank you for choosing TE Certified.
Call out to address a running toilet causing a high water bill. Homeowner was also interested in doing a pull and reset on the same toilet to make sure the wax seal was good. Arrived at the customer’s home to complete quoted repairs on the whole home HVAC system. Customer noticed that the thermostat for the system was off. Discovered that the condensate pump was unplugged, preventing the furnace condensation from leaving and tripping the float switch. Plugged the pump back in and the furnace began to work properly. Connected the two flex ducts with duct strap, rerouting them around the new support joist. Discovered that there was a horizontal section to the new joist, so the metal supply duct needed to be rerouted. Picked up R-8 8” flex duct from Apex Supply Marietta. Replaced the supply with a flex duct and secured it with duct strap. Disposed of the old metal duct. Reported results to the customer.
Replaced hose bib and isolation valve. Replaced failed thermal expansion tank. Replaced trap and added a dishwasher tailpiece. Tested for leaks and function, all good. Thank you for choosing T.E. Certified.
