Could have been better

Turns out my stuck garage door needed servicing, no repairs etc. The technician, Matt, quoted me $130/door (note - the other door was fine). I am going through some personal hardship and was assured some discount. Matt quoted $200 for serving both (lubricating, tightening nuts n bolts, safety inspection - in all a 20min job). I had been under stress because of the door and needed this out of my way. I agreed and job was completed. I spoke to few people around and later realized not only did I pay for something I did not need, but also over-payed for maintenance itself. There are tons of companied offering Groupons and it could have been done for much less. Agreed, I did not have a gun to my head but I do feel cheated. No issues with the service or the technician but guys be honest and fair if you need to keep your customer.

Response from Aaron Overhead Doors Buford:

Thank you for sharing your experience as we believe people should do when its good and bad. **Action taken by us** Within 10 minutes of receiving this review I (Owner) called Veena to discuss her experience. I asked questions and she calmly expressed her hardship and that we did everything right but she felt it was too much even though she agreed to the amount prior to starting the job. Yes, there are some very low prices on groupon to do tune ups. We do things very different than every company in our area and that includes the most thorough safety inspection on the market. We also hire the best of the best and that requires that we pay the best. Groupon's are a way for businesses to get in your garage and upsell. They make no money after paying gas, insurance, payroll taxes, and groupon takes a large % of the total price. We discussed all of this and it was clear to me that the reason it was such a big deal was because of Veena's current financial situation. Solution: We have a hardship program. I accepted her as a hardship and refunded her entire invoice back to her credit card. We do this because we look at our customers as people. We care. We agreed that next year when she's doing better we can charge her full price and do another tune up. She was satisfied with that.
