On Friday (04/10/20), Mr Preston Uecker installed a new garage door opener (Model 8550WLB) and associated components that are required with this new installation, at my home. Preston was very efficient, and when completed, he explained everything I needed to get familiar with the new system, very clearly. Been a customer with Garage Door Medics for 5 years or so and always enjoy the company's technicians work ethic and professionalism every time they come out. Power to the receiver was on a switch, I moved power to a constant outlet.
Bad internal board, added an external receiver. Lube and tune service.
customer was a no call no show. Need to get them on another day when or if they call back. BG
Needs relocation of fire knox switch on office gate. No stores on either gate. Per video we can install strobe kit on the post. The office gate also had bent track that is starting to cut into the front wheel and also the multicode receiver isn't working on this gate. Entrance gate has no fire strobe either, although the knox key is much more visible on the pedestal. Office here mentioned the fire dept will let us know where they want the mounting location for the knox to be on both gates.
Arrival time 538pm. Office gate not working. Belt was stepped and not catching customer stated. Replaced 4L350 with 4L340 for more snug fit. Tested gate and it worked as normal. Pics and video on file. There is a bend in the track that will require welding and office stated the remote doesn't work often. Will give estimates for this as well. Departure of 625pm
Door springs replaced. They had 1 set of 528 springs. Swapped for four 728 springs. Now door stays closed and has slight assist opening and stays up. Other maintenance guy here says it feels much better than before. Per the video the door has been modified at some point in the past. The Russian rods are cut off top and bottom making door about 30lbs lighter than it should be. Thus the reason we cannot get it perfectly balanced.
15'11x 7' opening. Will need framing in both sides and operator. 9'6" floor to beam. 8'9" to ceiling light. Customer had us do door at another house. Will want the same insulated door. With slide lock. And chaindrive operator. 8 ft header height and 9' front ceiling. Customer told to have garage cleared 10ft back. Was here on free estimate for a door.
No power to operator. No charge per tech. Will need an electrician to restore power to the line. Customer needs Boling info filled out before we can make a return trip to do work.
Sitecheck. Video on file of sitecheck. No power to operator. Need to have electrician come restore power. Operator shut off to prevent any damage when energizing the line to the operator. At this point we can come out and power the machine on and verify all parts are working and nothing got damaged. Left gate shut as it was before arrival. No charge for site visit. Chargeable call upon next visit for repair/maintenance.
Installation of Two Springs 218 LR, AND BEARING PLATE Residential, Drums and 16 Ft Bottom seal.
Power outage caused motor to drop code, there is no kickers installed on this door. I did not do them today because doors are being replaced in 3 months. Had to break into garage to access the motor. Vault release does not work properly on this type of genie motor. To release the trolley it needs to be pulled inward toward motor.
I did a lock ball release in 373 LM remote.
