Very helpful

Jay and Benjamin did a great job yesterday installing the new dehumidifier. Their service went above and beyond when they identified ductwork that was disconnected and leaking. They showed us the problems (along with other non-hvac concerns), gave us a price estimate, and made the needed repairs. Another great job by Comfort Central.

Performed heating tune up service on all 3 systems checking all electrical components, refrigerant balance, cleaning of all furnace components, treatment of drains, performance of full combustion analysis, testing of unit start up, operation, shutdown. Customer complaint about mini split dehumidification during summer months causing high humidity when in dry mode. Tested minisplit in both heat and cool finding all electrical components and refrigerant balance within manufacturer's specifications. Referenced system manual to attempt to change dry mode settings. Will recommend a return in spring to check dry mode operation as it does not want to dehumidify without a cooling load on the building. Upstairs may require additional dehumidification but can be more accurately tested when outdoor temperatures and humidity are higher.

Found heat pump going off on high-pressure at 600 psi. Generally this happens because not enough air movement is going across indoor coil. Plugged a 3 inch hole that was around the line set to try to get more air through the coil. Plugged the floor, where the copper comes through the floor. Checked The blades on the indoor blower wheel. They they are clean. Check both sides of the evaporator coil. They are clean. Check the bottom of the evaporator coil to make sure it was having good contact with the metal it sits on. Led sped the blower up too high. None of these things made any difference. I believe the ductwork on your house can’t handle the amount of air that is required for a 4 ton unit. This would make the coil overheat, which would cause the pressure on the high side to go up and cycle the outdoor unit off on high pressure. I recommend you call the people that installed this and let them deal with this. If it was installed less than a year ago, state law requires parts and lab

Performed heating maintenance tune up service on heat pump system checking all electrical components, refrigerant balance, unit start up, operation, defrost, shutdown, treatment of drains, checking of humidifier. Customer complaint of unit appears to be running constantly in cooler temps and a noise at intermittent times while unit is running. Checked blower, blower operation, speed taps for both call for back up heat and regular call for heat. Checked blower operation during call for humidifier. Checked defrost and electric heat. Did not identify any unusual noises at this time. Believe system running extended cycles due to low outdoor temperatures at night as refrigerant balance and unit electrical components are within manufacturer's specifications. Adjusted thermostat cycles per hour setting to help address long cycle issues. Everything runs great!
