We came across this job as a result of a 10 year old Rheem water heater that was leaking from the bottom of the tank. We replaced it with an AO Smith GCV 50 300 natural gas hot water heater. We checked the water pressure and determined that this house was on an open loop system and did not need a thermal expansion tank.
