I completed a diagnostic on a Payne AC unit. I found the unit was running at a -12psig suction. The unit is only 4yrs old and has a big leak. I gave the3 customer options, but also told them I would not be able to charge the unit due to air in the lines. The customer wanted me to try to charge. I went ahead and added about 1lb of 410A and head pressure went well above 600psig. There is too much air in the lines, and advised the customer of a leak search and repair has to be done to fill the unit at this point. The unit is nonoperational at this time. The customer will let us know.
