Thermostat was set on a schedule so I explained the thermostats to him his wife and his daughter. If he wants it cooler in the house it needs to be set to cooling and if he wants it warmer in the house and needs to be set in heat and after he adjusts the desired temperature he needs to click the hold button to avoid the schedule. Also explained that the upstairs thermostat should be set accordingly to weather he wants it warmer or colder in the house because the system will only do one at a time
