Pausing until parts arrive Arrived on site to inspect unit blowing warm air. Upon arrival i checked the filter and set the thermostat. I went outside and checked amp draws and refrigerant pressures. Found unit to be low on charge. I checked for leaks with bubbles and my electronic leak detector. The detector got a hit on high and low sensitivity by the filter drier and txv. I could also hear a slight hissing sound. Upon further inspection, I found the txv was leaking right at the top connection. Built quote to replace TXV but recommend full system replacement. Customer approved TXV quote. Returned today and replaced txv and filter drier. Removed old items, installed new, pressure tested with nitrogen, and pulled vacuum down to 300 microns. Added 10 pounds r410a and compressor renew oil. Tested operation of the equipment and found no other issues. Unit is running and cooling as designed at this time.
Arrived on site to inspect 28 year old Bryant package unit not cooling. Upon arrival found blower motor was not running. Checked electrical connections and capacitor readings. Found blower cap had failed, reading 0 out of 15 mfd. customer approved replacement. Replaced capacitor and tested operation. The supply air seemed to be weak so I checked the blower fan speed settings and amps. Blower was already set to max speed. Recommended duct evaluation. Unit is cooling at this time but due to the age of the system, the type of refrigerant, and it’s condition, I recommend full system replacement. All work is complete
